I20 reopened in Parker County after crash, hazmat spill

The Texas Department of Public Safety has reopened lanes of Interstate 20 in Parker County after an extended closure due to a crash and hazardous materials spill.

At around 3:30pm this afternoon, multiple agencies responded to the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 near Ranger Highway.

DPS says traffic was slowing in the area when the driver of a box truck failed to control their speed and collided with an 18-wheeler. The driver of the box truck was seriously hurt and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

An oil and fuel spill required the highway to be closed for approximately four hours while HazMat crews cleaned up the scene.

The lanes have been reopened at this time.
