Young woman killed in Irving crash
At around 10:00pm on Thursday evening, Irving FD/EMS and PD responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of N. MacArthur Blvd and Valley Ranch Parkway.
The first vehicle was traveling southbound on MacArthur Blvd in the left turn lane to go east on Valley Ranch Parkway. The second vehicle was traveling northbound on MacArthur Blvd. Both vehicles had green lights. The driver of the first vehicle failed to yield to the right of way of the northbound vehicle and attempted to make a turn, causing a frontal collision.
A passenger inside the first vehicle was transported by paramedics to a hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The Medical Examiner has identified the victim as a 20-year-old female from Irving.
The crash remains under investigation.
