Carrollton PD investigating two crashes with multiple fatalities reported
At 8:55pm Friday, Carrollton Fire Rescue and Police responded to the southbound lanes of I35E near Sandy Lane for reports of a major accident. Southbound lanes of the highway were closed while emergency responders worked the scene.
While Carrollton first responders were working the first accident, an 18-wheeler crashed, resulting in several injuries. The 18-wheeler then burst into flames. This accident scene was closer to southbound I35E and Frankford Road.
Carrollton police are still early in the investigation, so they haven’t released any details; however, we have heard multiple fatalities resulted from these crashes.
Lanes of I35E were closed for several hours.
