18-year-old killed in Arlington crash after running red light

On Monday, May 8, 2023, at approximately 5:57 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of W. Green Oaks Boulevard and Waterview Drive.
Witnesses told officers the driver of a vehicle was traveling northbound along Green Oaks Blvd and ran a red light, colliding with a pickup truck that was traveling eastbound along Waterview Drive. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to strike a light pole in the median and roll multiple times.
The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the pickup was treated on scene by paramedics and released.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
