Pedestrian killed in Fort Worth crash
On Monday, May 22, 2023, at about 11:12pm, Fort Worth officers were dispatched to the intersection of McCart Avenue and West Risinger Road in reference to a major accident involving an automobile and a pedestrian. Fort Worth Fire Department and MedStar personnel also responded.
Upon arrival, officers observed that the victim, a 47-year-old female, had been walking eastbound in the crosswalk at the intersection of southbound lanes of McCart Avenue and Garden Springs Drive when she was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound on McCart Avenue. The suspect driver of the suspect vehicle that struck the victim did not remain on scene to offer medical assistance, but subsequently returned to the scene to speak with officers.
The victim was subsequently pronounced deceased on-scene by medical personnel.
There is no suspect in custody and the Traffic Investigation Unit detectives will be conducting the on-scene investigation.
