12-year-old boy dies after being shot in east Fort Worth
On Monday, June 19, 2023, at about 10:23pm, Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to 801 7th Avenue, Cook Children’s Medical Center, in reference to a juvenile male victim whom had arrived by private vehicle and was requesting treatment for a gunshot wound.
Officers located the victim and learned that the shooting had occurred in the 5500 block of Brentwood Stair Road on the east side of town.
The victim was transported to Cook Children’s Medical Center by private vehicle for medical treatment of life-threatening injuries.
According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office, the 12-year-old boy succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
