The latest: Fort Worth firefighter in critical condition after rollover crash
One firefighter is in critical condition this morning after an accident involving a Fort Worth Fire Department fire truck at 2:34 a.m.
Four firefighters were in the fire truck, all were transported to the hospital. In addition to the firefighter in critical condition, one firefighter remains in stable condition, and two other firefighters have been released from the hospital. The accident happened near the intersection of Village Creek and Wilbarger, close to the Eugene McCray Community Center.
The fire truck involved in the accident was responding as an alarm assignment to a single-family house fire in the 4500 block of Pecos St. when the crash occurred. The alarm was dispatched at Fire Station 3 at 2:29 a.m. Another fire engine responded to the house fire call following the accident.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Fort Worth Police Department. At this time, no other vehicles appear to be involved. Names are not being released until all family members have been notified.
