UPDATE: Keller teen killed in high speed crash
On Saturday, March 30, 2024, at approximately 1:27 p.m., multiple agencies from Keller and Westlake responded to a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of North Main Street (U.S. 377) and Westport Parkway in the Town of Westlake.
The preliminary investigation has shown that the vehicle was traveling southbound on U.S. 377 at a high rate of speed and failed to stop for the red light at Westport Parkway before colliding with a second vehicle.
Upon arrival, police and fire-rescue personnel located an unconscious, 17-year-old male driver and began life saving measures. Despite their efforts, the male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The occupants of the second vehicle received minor injuries and were treated and released from the scene.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
The 17-year-old was a resident of Keller.
