Motorcycle rider killed in Dallas crash; two people charged

On July 19, 2024 at about 8:45 PM, Dallas Fire Rescue and Police responded to an accident call at Southwell Road and Harry Hines Boulevard.

The preliminary investigation determined a motorcycle occupied by two individuals was traveling northbound on Harry Hines Boulevard. A 20-year-old man was driving a truck southbound on Harry Hines Boulevard when he turned left on Southwell Road and crashed into the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle and a rider were transported to a local hospital. The rider died from their injuries. The driver of the motorcycle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and will be charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

The 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with Collision Involving Death and Collision Involving Serious Bodily Injury.

The crash remains under investigation.
