Man, three dogs die in northwest Dallas fire

On Saturday, October 12, at 6:29 a.m., Dallas Fire-Recue (DFR) units were assigned to a 911 call for a structure fire, at a mobile home park, located in the 2600 block of Lombardy Lane in Northwest Dallas.

When firefighters arrived on location, they observed flames coming from the back of one of the homes as well as two vehicles. The fire began to quickly spread, resulting in a second alarm response.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames over the next two hours before putting the fire out and declaring an “out taps” at 8:40 a.m.

At the end of it all there were at least 4 mobile homes that sustained fire damage, in addition to 4 vehicles.

Unfortunately, during suppression efforts, firefighters discover the unresponsive body of an adult male inside one of the homes. They began life-saving measures on scene before transporting him to the hospital where he was ultimately pronounced dead. Three dogs also perished during the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
