UPDATE: Parent stabs another parent during elementary graduation ceremony, Fort Worth police say
On Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:33 a.m., Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to 3009 Bilglade Rd. (South Hills Elementary) on a stabbing call.
Initial details indicate that during a 5th grade graduation ceremony, two parents who police believe have had verbal altercations in the past, began arguing behind the school.
One adult male suspect displayed a knife and stabbed the other individual in the upper part of his body. The suspect then left the scene on foot.
Witnesses were able to provide arriving officers with a description of the suspect. Officers arrested the adult male a few blocks from the school without incident.
The suspect is currently being charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, but those charges may change as the investigation continues.
The suspect has been identified as a 28-year-old man.
The victim was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
Fort Worth ISD is providing counseling for anyone that may have witnessed this incident.
