Dallas Police investigating four separate holiday weekend homicides
The Dallas Police Department has released preliminary information on four separate homicide shootings that occurred throughout the city over the Labor Day weekend holiday.
On September 6, 2026, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 5600 block of S.R.L. Thornton Freeway Northbound. The preliminary investigation determined that a 27-year-old man was shot by an unknown suspect. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition. On September 7, 2026, at approximately 12:00 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a disturbance call in the 5100 block of Cardiff Street. The preliminary investigation determined that a 64-year-old man was shot by a 33-year-old suspect. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. On September 7, 2026, at approximately 12:20 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the area of Plano Road and Walnut Hill Lane. The preliminary investigation determined that unknown suspects shot at a 33-year-old man, who was driving a vehicle. The man was struck, which resulted in him crashing into a tree. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced him deceased at the scene. The facts and circumstances surrounding this incident are currently being investigated. On September 7, 2026, at approximately 11:10 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 2500 block of Cherry Valley Boulevard. The preliminary investigation determined that a 56-year-old man was shot by 59-year-old man. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The suspect was later located and transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. The suspect is currently in police custody and will be charged with Murder.
