Structure fire in Parker County claims three lives

On Monday, August 17th, at around 9:51pm, Parker County ESD 6 was dispatched to a structure fire on Lake Country Drive in South Parker County. Initial dispatch information indicated the structure was involved and three people were missing.

Firefighters arrived to find the structure was fully involved. They began an offensive attack to contain the fire and start a search of the structure. During that search, firefighters located all three victims. They were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identities of the deceased will be released by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Parker County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire.

Three people killed in wrong way collision on Highway 121

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at approximately 1:20 a.m., a wrong way driver crash was reported at 121 Airport Freeway and North Riverside Drive.

Fort Worth PD learned that an SUV occupied by one adult driver was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of 121.

Evidence gathered on scene shows that the SUV was traveling the wrong way in lane 2 when it struck a vehicle with three occupants that moved out of the way, but was still struck on the back-driver’s side. No major injuries have been reported from that collision.

The SUV continued the wrong way and collided head-on with a four-door sedan occupied with four people; three adults and one child.

The wrong way driver was pronounced deceased on scene. Two adult females who were riding in the sedan were also pronounced deceased at the scene.

The adult male driver of the sedan and a rear passenger child between the ages of 10-11 years old have been transported to local hospitals and are expected to survive.

FWPD’s Traffic Investigation Unit is on scene and gathering further information.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will identify the deceased and anyone with further information on video is asked to contact the Fort Worth Police Department at 817-392-4222.

Man swimming near boat drowns at Joe Pool Lake

At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 15th, the Grand Prairie Fire Department responded to a possible drowning call at Joe Pool Lake.

A witness reported that a male was last seen swimming off a boat and did not resurface. The man was not wearing a life jacket at the time.

The Grand Prairie Public Safety Dive Team initiated search operations on Saturday evening until dark. Divers resumed operations on Sunday morning, and recovered the 36-year-old man’s body.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

This is the third drowning at Joe Pool Lake this summer. As the lake season continues, GPFD strongly encourages the public to wear a life vest or an appropriate personal flotation device while near or in the water.

Pedestrian killed in far north Fort Worth crash

At 12:14am Sunday morning, Fort Worth Fire and Police were dispatched to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Highway 114 near Northwest High School.

Officials say a man was walking along the two lanes of eastbound Highway 114 when a vehicle hit him. The driver of the car then drove off.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The vehicle might have front end damage on the driver’s side.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 32-year-old man.

Man expected to survive being hit by train in Fort Worth

Just before 11:30am Saturday morning, Fort Worth Fire and Police were dispatched to the area of W. Bonds Ranch Road between Fossil Springs Drive and Highway 287 for a person struck by a train.

Emergency responders arrived to find a 20-year-old man with serious injuries after being struck by a train. Supervisors with FWFD, who carry blood to assist with major trauma calls, were dispatched to the scene for patient care assistance.

CareFlite helicopter was placed on standby, but FWFD paramedics transported the victim to a local trauma center with serious injuries.

FWPD say the man is expected to survive the incident.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the situation.

Person walking on I20 struck, killed by vehicle in Dallas

Early this morning, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a major accident involving a pedestrian on eastbound I20 near I35E.

Officials say a person walking in the fast lane of the highway was fatally struck by a passing vehicle.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The crash remains under investigation.

Man and juvenile killed in high speed crash, Grand Prairie Police say

The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred Wednesday, August 12th, in the 500 block of N.E. 5th Street.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., an SUV traveling southbound on N.E. 5th Street struck the back of a parked waste collection truck. The driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grand Prairie Fire Department medics.

Three other occupants, all juveniles, were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Hospital staff later notified investigators that one of the juveniles succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased. A second juvenile was listed in critical but stable condition, while the third juvenile sustained minor injuries.

Witness statements and surveillance video from nearby businesses indicate the SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision. Investigators also determined that the occupants were not wearing seat belts.

The driver of the SUV has been identified as a 28-year-old man, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The collision remains under investigation.

Man dies in Parker County rollover crash

At around 11:30pm on Wednesday, August 12, Parker County ESD #1, PCHD EMS, and DPS Troopers were called to the scene of a major accident in the 6500 block of FM 1886 north of Willow Park.

When emergency responders arrived, they located an overturned SUV off the roadway.

The driver, a 41-year-old man, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.

DPS Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.

Woman shot, killed in road rage shooting on I20, FWPD says

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on the south side of Fort Worth.

On Thursday, August 13, 2026, Fort Worth Police and Fire were dispatched to shooting near the 3700 block of I20 and Granbury Road.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female with a gunshot wound. 

After speaking to witnesses, investigators learned that the victim and the suspect were traveling eastbound near this location when they were involved in a road rage incident. 

The suspect pulled up to the victim and fired shots, striking the victim and fled the scene.

First responders attempted life saving measures, however, she was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Homicide Detectives were called to the scene, and this is still an ongoing investigation.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death and confirm the identity of the victim.

Two dead in domestic-related shooting, Denton police say

Around 2:35 p.m., Denton Police and Fire responded to the 1900 block of N. Bell Avenue for reports of a shooting.

First responders located a man and a woman with apparent gunshot wounds. Both individuals were declared deceased on scene. Their identities and relationship to each other will be released pending next-of-kin notification.

Police say the incident stemmed from a domestic disturbance.

The investigation is ongoing.
