Man found dead in McKinney roadway

The McKinney Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight Sunday along Stacy Road near McKinney Ranch Parkway.

A passerby observed a person laying in the roadway near the given intersection, and called police.

McKinney police arrived to find a 51-year-old man with significant injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to MPD’s preliminary investigation, it was determined the man was a pedestrian who was struck by a passing vehicle.

The Accident Investigation Unit and detectives are working to identify the vehicle involved and any other information.

Three people injured, one fatally, in south Dallas shooting

On Sunday, August 9, 2026, at approximately 4:31 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 2700 block of Exline Street near Malcolm X Blvd.

The preliminary investigation determined that three people were shot at the location and transported to the hospital by private vehicle. One person later died at the hospital.

No arrest has been made in the shooting incident.

At the crime scene, a 37-year-old male disregarded the crime scene tape and officers’ directions to avoid the area. He was arrested and charged with Interference with Public Duties, a Class B misdemeanor.

The shooting remains under investigation.

Man critically hurt in Deep Ellum shooting

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, at approximately 11:54 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 2700 block of Elm Street.

The preliminary investigation determined that officers heard gunfire and located a man who had been shot by an unknown suspect.

Dallas Fire-Rescue transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition.

No arrest has been made.

Motorcyclist killed in northwest Fort Worth crash

At around 12:10pm Saturday afternoon, Fort Worth Fire and Police were dispatched to a major accident at the intersection of Sansom Park Drive and Angle Avenue.

According to witnesses, a motorcyclist was traveling at a high speed and splitting traffic when he collided with a vehicle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as a 27-year-old man.

The crash remains under investigation.

Man fatally struck by two vehicles in Dallas

On Friday, August 7, 2026, at approximately 11:33 p.m., Dallas Police and Fire Rescue responded to a major accident near the intersection of Maple Avenue and Lucas Drive.

The preliminary investigation determined that a man entered the street and was struck by an SUV driving southbound on Maple Avenue, causing him to fall into the northbound lane where he was hit by an autonomous vehicle.

The man was transported to the hospital, where he died.

The driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene; the autonomous vehicle was unoccupied.

The crash remains under investigation.

One person critically hurt in Balch Springs crash

At around 5:00am this morning, Balch Springs Fire and Police along with Medical Jets EMS responded to a major accident on eastbound I20 near Seagoville Road.

When emergency crews arrived, they located a collision involving major damage.

Air medical was on standby, but disregarded.

One person was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. We will update this story when BSPD releases more information.

Motorcyclist killed in crash at Fort Worth Stockyards

On Friday, August 7, 2026, at 11:44pm, Fort Worth Fire and Police were dispatched to a major accident at Ellis Avenue and NW 24th Street.

A motorcyclist collided into the side of a sedan.

Fort Worth Fire transported the rider to a local hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Authorities say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

No injuries after DPD officer fires shot during felony traffic stop

At around 9:20am Thursday morning, Dallas Police officers were dispatched to a robbery in progress in the 3500 block of Sunnyvale Street involving an armed suspect who stole a vehicle.

Officers followed the vehicle into north Dallas when the suspect stopped near the 5900 block of Williamstown Road. At that time, a felony traffic stop was initiated by officers.

As the suspect got out of the car, an officer fired his weapon. No one was shot.

The suspect has been arrested.

Dallas ISD officer shot; one person in custody

At around 10:30am Thursday morning, a Dallas Independent School District police officer was flagged down along LBJ Freeway and advised of a man walking on the highway, possibly in distress.

The DISD officer picked up the man, and transported him to the Walmart parking lot for safety.

As the DISD officer was dropping him off, a shooting occurred. The officer was shot.

A nearby officer arrived and applied a tourniquet to the injured officer, who was shot in the lower torso.

According to scanner traffic, one person was taken into custody in a nearby neighborhood. Police have not confirmed if it is the suspect, but did confirm one person is in custody.

Dallas Fire Rescue transported the injured officer with a police escort to Parkland Hospital for emergency surgery. The officer’s condition is not known at this time.

The Chief of the Dallas ISD Police Department has identified the officer as Justin Jones, a 39-year-old man. He has served with the DISD Police Department for 16 years. He is currently assigned as an officer at White High School.

Dallas ISD PD, Dallas PD, DART PD, DPS, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, and the ATF remain on scene investigating the incident.

Three juveniles involved in Denton crash; one killed

At approximately 1:08 p.m., Denton Police and Fire responded to a single vehicle crash on FM 1173 going eastbound toward I-35 near Krum.

A juvenile driver and two juvenile passengers were transported to the hospital. The juvenile female driver sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized. A juvenile male passenger was pronounced deceased at the hospital. A female juvenile passenger was treated at the hospital and released.

Krum ISD: “It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the loss of one of our students following a tragic automobile accident this afternoon.”

The crash remains under investigation.

The roads were shut down for approximately 5 hours due to the crash.
