Pedestrian struck, killed by 18-wheeler while attempting to cross I-20 on foot
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred last night (Saturday) on Interstate 20 in south Dallas.
Multiple emergency responders from DFR and DSO responded to the scene just after 11:00PM along westbound Interstate 20 near Dowdy Ferry Road.
A man was found to be deceased in the right lane of travel.
According to investigators, an 18-wheeler was traveling on the highway when the driver said he hit something. He continued down the highway, but returned to the scene.
Police say the pedestrian was attempting to cross Interstate 20 from north to south when he was fatally struck by the 18-wheeler.
No charges are expected for the driver of the 18-wheeler.
