Two women killed, one child injured in crash on I-30 in Dallas
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a major accident with two fatalities that occurred last night in the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 at Hampton Road. The crash occurred around 10:45PM.
According to officials, a passenger vehicle occupied by three people (two females and a child) was stopped along the highway to assist a family member with mechanical issues involving another vehicle. While leaving, the passenger vehicle entered the right lane of traffic in reverse and was struck in the rear by a pickup truck.
The front end to rear end collision caused major damage to both vehicles.
DSO arrived as Dallas firefighters were attempting to extricate both females from the passenger vehicle. A 5-year-old child was also found to be injured.
All three individuals in the passenger vehicle were transported to area hospitals. The two women, now identified as a 28-year-old female and a 54-year-old female, were both pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 5-year-old child was transported in stable condition.
The driver of the pickup truck was not seriously injured.
No charges are expected to be filed.
