Lightning to blame for three overnight house fires in Frisco

The Frisco Fire Department had quite a busy evening last night as a severe thunderstorm with frequent lightning impacted the area. Lightning is the suspected cause of all three fires, which occurred in the span of around two hours.

The first fire was reported around 10:54PM in the 11000 block of Mesa Verde Drive. Fire was showing from the roof of a two-story home upon arrival. The fire was declared under control at 11:09PM.

Just as the first fire was brought under control, firefighters were dispatched to a second fire in the 600 block of Triple Bar Road. The fire damaged most of the two-story home.

And a little after midnight, the third fire was reported in the 8000 block of Cain River Drive. Smoke was showing from the home on arrival. That fire was declared under control at 12:36AM.

Luckily, there were no civilian or firefighter injuries.
