Garland police searching for driver who struck, killed man in field

The Garland Police Department is looking for a driver who reportedly struck and killed a man overnight.

Around 7:00AM this morning, Garland police responded to reports of a deceased man in a field just off an alleyway in the 600 block of Stroud Lane.

An investigation reveals the man was in the field near the alleyway when a vehicle drove off into the grass and ran him over. The vehicle then fled from the scene and did not render aid.

The victim has been identified as a 31-year-old man. His death is being investigated as a murder.

Police would like any residents in the immediate area who have video surveillance cameras to review their tapes and see if there is anything that could help solve this crime.

Police say there may be damage to the front end of the truck and are urging anyone with information to contact their office: 972-485-4840.
