Man in stable condition after being attacked by protestors in downtown Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred during the second night of protests in the downtown Dallas area last night.
The incident was recorded on video and spread across social media late last night. The video shows multiple protestors and rioters beating, kicking, and assaulting a man in a roadway.
Dallas police say the victim went to the House of Blues, located at 2200 N. Lamar Street, carrying a machete to “protect his neighborhood from protestors.”
The machete-wielding man confronted a group of protestors and was subsequently assaulted by several of them.
He was transported to an area hospital where he remains in stable condition at this hour, according to Dallas Police.
The incident remains under investigation.
