Intoxicated driver causes serious crash near Granbury

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a serious crash that occurred on Wednesday evening along Fall Creek Highway near the Revolver Brewery.

At around 8:00pm, the deCordova Bend Estates VFD, Texas EMS, and multiple law enforcement all responded to the scene near Fall Creek Highway (FM 167) near Walters Bend Court.

Officials say a 25-year-old man was driving northbound on Fall Creek Highway when he failed to maintain his lane along a curve in the roadway. He drifted into the southbound lane and hit another vehicle head-on. A third vehicle traveling southbound was also involved.

The driver of the southbound vehicle was transported to a local hospital by air ambulance with injuries. The driver and passenger of the third vehicle, who were related to the driver of the southbound vehicle ahead of their’s, were not seriously injured.

DPS troopers determined the 25-year-old driver who caused the crash was intoxicated. He was arrested for intoxication assault.
