Man killed mother, sister at home in Allen before heading to airport, police say

The Allen Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday morning at a home in their city.

At around 9:15am on Saturday morning, police were called to a house in the 1800 block of Nueces Drive after a 9-1-1 call came in regarding a man armed with a knife and involved in a disturbance.

Officers found a 51-year-old female and 17-year-old female both deceased at the home. Detectives say the women were the suspect’s mother and sister.

The 19-year-old male accused of committing the crimes was identified, but not found at the scene. Law enforcement worked quickly to locate the man, who was waiting to board a flight at DFW Airport. Police say he was headed for California.

NEW: Intoxicated driver caused crash that killed another driver in Tarrant County

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred on Thursday night along Farm to Market Road 730 near Reed Road north of Azle.

Just before 9:30pm, multiple emergency responders from Azle FD/EMS, Briar Reno FD, Eagle Mountain EMS, and others were called to the scene after there were reports of a head-on collision with people trapped in the vehicles. Firefighters found both drivers were heavily trapped in their vehicles and requested assistance for extended extrication.

CareFlite helicopters were called to the scene and landed at the nearby VFW.

Traffic investigators say a 33-year-old woman was driving a pickup truck northbound on FM 730 when she attempted to pass a slower vehicle. She veered into the oncoming lanes and hit a passenger car head-on. Both drivers were cut out of their vehicles and transported to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth.

The driver of the passenger car, identified as a 68-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 33-year-old woman who caused the accident was found to be under the influence at the time of the collision. She has been transferred from JPS Hospital to the Tarrant County jail on an Intoxication Manslaughter charge.

Lanes of the roadway were closed for most of the evening while emergency responders cleared the scene.

Driver killed after recklessly fleeing from police, crashing in Johnson County

The Itasca Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety are investigating a fatality accident that occurred earlier this evening along northbound Interstate 35W in the Grandview area.

According to Itasca PD, the driver of a pickup truck was driving recklessly on the highway. Law enforcement officers pursued the driver into Johnson County where a major crash occurred along Interstate 35W near County Road 201 in Grandview.

Immediately following the accident, police officers called for paramedics and attempted life-saving measures on the driver. An air ambulance was called to the scene by paramedics and Grandview FD.

The helicopter airlifted the driver to JPS Hospital where they were pronounced deceased. Identity has not been publicly released due to next of kin notification.

Northbound lanes of the highway were temporarily closed while firefighters landed the helicopter.

Young child killed in crash along I-30 in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred late Wednesday evening along Interstate 30 near Haskell Avenue.

At around 10:30pm, Dallas Fire Rescue and DSO deputies were called to the scene on eastbound Interstate 30 just passed the I-45 / 75 interchange. When officers arrived, they found a wrecked vehicle and a frantic man and woman. It was determined that a young child had been involved in the crash and was not found inside the vehicle.

The child was located at the scene, where life-saving measures were conducted by numerous first responders. Dallas Fire Rescue transported the child to nearby Baylor Hospital. The child was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Traffic investigators believe the family was traveling eastbound on highway when the driver swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle. The driver lost control, hit the HOV red arrow, and veered across all lanes of the highway, eventually coming to a stop at the Peak Street exit ramp. At some point during the collision, the young child was ejected from the vehicle.

The child’s mother was driving at the time. The father was riding in the vehicle. The child has been identified as a 2-year-old.

Young child killed in accidental shooting at Fort Worth park

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating an accidental shooting that claimed the life of a young child on Sunday afternon.

Just after 3:00pm yesterday, multiple emergency responders were called to Oakland Lake Park near 1700 Lakeshore Drive in reference to a female shot. Paramedics arrived and quickly transported a young girl to Cook Children’s hospital with major injuries. Unfortunately, she was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Those close to the situation say the little girl found a gun inside her family’s vehicle and it went off.

She has been identified as a 3-year-old girl from Fort Worth.

Two injured in shooting near UNT fraternity house

The University of North Texas Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in a parking lot on their campus near a popular fraternity house.

At around 1:43am on Saturday morning, UNT police officers were called to a shooting in Lot 41 near the campus’ fraternity and sorority row.

According to UNT PD, witnesses reported an altercation between fraternity members and other unknown persons in the parking lot behind the Kappa Sigma house, located at 1009 Maple Street. The situation escalated to gunfire.

Two individuals, both UNT students, were transported to a nearby hospital. One has since been released, but the second student is still recovering from serious injuries.

At 4:30am, UNT PD indicated there was no active threat to the general public. There is no other information regarding the suspect(s) in this case.

Man killed in Alvarado shooting

The Alvarado Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday night at a house in the 1200 block of Rene Drive.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene after shots were fired during a disturbance. One person was shot and transported to Texas Health Hospital Fort Worth, but later pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as a 29-year-old man who lived at the residence. He was shot multiple times and died just before 2:30am Saturday morning.

Alvarado police say the suspect was arrested at the scene. There is no information on the suspect.

The incident remains under investigation.

Eight people shot in seven shootings across Dallas this weekend

The Dallas Police Department is investigating several shootings that have occurred since Friday across the city. These incidents have left six people injured and two people dead. Here is a rundown of the shootings as provided by Dallas PD.

On Friday, April 16, 2021, a man was shot in the back at the location and taken by private vehicle to an area hospital. The complainant stated he did not wish to press charges regarding the incident. The complainant is in stable condition at this time.

On Saturday, April 17, 2021, at approximately 12:13 a.m., Dallas patrol officers responded to a shooting at the Super Seven Inn, located at 9626 C F Hawn Freeway.  Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 30-year-old female had been shot at the location by the suspect, who is her live-in boyfriend. DFR responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Homicide Unit, where detectives interviewed him. The suspect, 24-year-old male, was transported to the Dallas County Jail where he will be charged with Murder.

On Saturday, April 17, 2021, two security officers working at an establishment at 1676 Regal Row instructed several individuals to leave after they were inside causing a disturbance. The suspects, approximately 5 to 6 men, got into their vehicles. As they drove away, they began firing shots towards the security officers. There were no injuries reported. The security officers did not return fire.

On Saturday, April 17, 2021, at approximately 7:29 p.m., Dallas patrol officers responded to a shooting at the Juanita Craft Recreation Center Park, located at 3000 Lyons Street. Upon arrival, officers were informed that the victim, an 18-year-old male, and two other individuals had been shot at the location by an unknown suspect. DFR responded and pronounced the complainant deceased at the scene. The two other individuals who were shot were transported to an area hospital where they are in stable condition.

On Saturday, April 17, 2021, at approximately 8:13 a.m., Dallas officers responded to a shooting at an establishment located in the 3600 block of W. Davis Street. Patrol officers learned that a 27-year-old male victim was shot in the chest area while attempting to break up a disturbance. The original disturbance was between two male suspects assaulting a 45-year-old male victim by pistol whipping him in the head. The suspects fled the location and are still at large. The victim who was shot was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. The initial victim was treated at the scene for his head injury. This remains an active investigation.

On Saturday, April 17, 2021, at approximately 11:55 p.m., responded to a shooting call in the 4200 block of Mint Way. There, officers met with a 58-year-old male victim who stated that he was walking in the 4100 block of S. Westmoreland Road when he was approached from behind by an unknown male suspect. The suspect attempted to rob him, at which time a struggle ensued. The suspect then produced a firearm and shot the victim in the shoulder. The suspect fled without taking any of the victim’s possessions and remains at large. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. This remains an ongoing investigation.

On Sunday, April 18, 2021, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Dallas officers responded to  a shooting call where they located an adult male who had been shot multiple times. The male had been transported to nearby urgent care facility by private vehicle. He was later transported by DFR to a trauma hospital. The investigation is ongoing.

Intoxicated driver caused crash that killed young woman in Arlington

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred in the early morning hours of Friday along Interstate 20.

At around 2:30am yesterday morning, multiple emergency responders were called to the crash on westbound Interstate 20 near Collins Street. The initial collision occurred when the driver of a vehicle swerved and hit a semi truck, causing the semi truck to jack-knife and block all lanes of the highway.

A second vehicle traveling on the highway was unable to avoid the semi truck and collided with it. The driver of this vehicle was pronounced deceased. She has been identified as a 21-year-old woman with a residential address from Cananda.

The driver who caused the initial crash with the semi truck was arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter. He has been identified as a 38-year-old man from Arlington.

Westbound lanes of I-20 were closed for several hours while police cleared the scene.

Woman killed in collision with box truck near Texas Motor Speedway

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred yesterday (Friday) morning along Highway 114 near Texas Motor Speedway.

Just after 10:00am, multiple emergency responders from Fort Worth and MedStar EMS responded to the scene on Highway 114 near Three Wide Drive. At least three vehicles were involved in a crash: a pickup truck, a box truck, and a semi truck.

Officials say a woman in the pickup truck, identified as a 44-year-old female, was pronounced deceased at the scene after her vehicle collided head-on with a box truck.

All lanes of westbound and eastbound Highway 114 were closed while Fort Worth police investigated the scene.
