The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight in the lanes of Interstate 30 near Henderson Street in Fort Worth.

Just before 3:00am, emergency responders were called to the scene on Interstate 30 after a 9-1-1 call came in of a person struck by a vehicle. When paramedics arrived, they found a woman laying in the freeway. They transported her to a local hospital, but she was pronounced deceased.

Detectives have learned that a couple was arguing inside their vehicle as they traveled along the highway. This argument escalated and led to the driver crashing the vehicle. The couple got out and continued their argument while outside of the vehicle. As they argued, a passing vehicle struck the woman, killing her.

The victim has been identified as a 25-year-old woman from Fort Worth.

Traffic units are investigating the incident. It is unclear if any charges will be filed.

The Irving Police Department is conducting a systematic search of MacArthur High School after police received reports of a possible armed student on the campus.

At around 3:15pm, officials at the school placed the campus under a lockdown after a report of an armed student was reported to administration. ISD officials notified the Irving Police Department, who have now taken control of the school.

Around 1,000 students were placed in lockdown. Some have been released. Students will be bussed to Travis Middle School once each classroom has been cleared by police officers.

Police say three males have been detained as they investigate the incident. There are no injuries to report.

It will take several hours for officers to clear the entire campus, says IPD. Once they clear the campus, it will be turned back over to Irving ISD.

The Fort Worth Fire Department has released some great news regarding their firefighters who was seriously injured yesterday while rescuing a woman from a structure fire.

At around noon on Tuesday, Fort Worth firefighters were called to a house in the 2600 block of Wilkinson Avenue for a house fire. Truck 14 and Engine 14 arrived within minutes and found smoke showing from the house. Firefighters made entry into the home and extinguished a small fire in the garage. An injured woman was also found and rescued from the home.

During the rescue, Brandon McCulloch, a firefighter from Station 14, sustained serious respiratory injuries. He continued to assist the injured woman while suffering from his own injuries.

A CareFlite helicopter was called to airlift the woman to Parkland Hospital. MedStar paramedics transported the injured firefighter to Parkland Hospital as well.

The woman’s injuries are considered to be very serious at this time, but her condition has not yet been released. Mr. McCulloch is expected to make a full recovery.

Mr. McCulloch has been a firefighter for nine years.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

The Burleson Police Department has released new information regarding this morning’s series of events that began with the shooting of one of their officers. Here is a quick timeline of events from Burleson Police Chief Billy Cordell.

At around 4:15am this morning, a Burleson police officer pulled over a vehicle at the intersection of SW Hillside Drive and NW John Jones Drive. The officer approached on the passenger’s side of the car and tapped on the window for the female passenger to roll it down. It was at this time that three shots were fired from inside the vehicle, hitting the officer in his vest, on his shoulder, and in the neck. The three suspects (two men and one woman) sped away as the officer called for help on his radio.

The suspects fled in the vehicle southbound on John Jones across Highway 174 and into Johnson County. A short time later, the vehicle caught fire and was abandoned near SE John Jones Drive and County Road 802. The suspects then fled on foot.

Around 8:00am, the Joshua Police Department notified the Burleson Police Department that a woman had been dropped off behind their station suffering from a gunshot wound. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital, but pronounced deceased. Law enforcement are still piecing together details, but they believe at least one of the suspects carjacked the woman from her home nearby and shot her in the process.

An extensive manhunt involving several law enforcement agencies ensued. Police were able to identify the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle, which was utilized to issue a Blue Alert.

This afternoon, a license plate reader in Denton picked up the vehicle’s plate number and alerted authorities. Police were able to notify agencies north of Denton to be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle. A short time later, the Gainesville Police Department located the vehicle and attempted to stop the suspect, but he sped off and led police on a short chase. He attempted to run away on foot after his vehicle became disabled, but was unable to escape.

He has been arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer and potentially other charges as well. His bond has been set at $1,000,000.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Burleson police will be releasing details on the officer later tonight.

The Burleson Police Department is investigating a morning homicide that claimed the life of one man.

At around 8:10am this morning, Burleson police were called to a house in the 800 block of Judith Street in regards to a shooting. Officers found a man deceased in the backyard of the home, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

A suspect was located inside the home and has cooperated with detectives.

The motive surrounding the shooting has not been officially released, although police say the suspect and the victim knew each other.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 33-year-old man.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred today in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart store, 2827 S. Buckner Blvd.

Police responded to the scene around 12:41pm after a woman left two children in her vehicle while she shopped at the store. While the woman was gone, a 9-year-old boy found a gun in the car and shot the 11-year-old boy while they were both in the vehicle.

Dallas Fire Rescue transported the 11-year-old to a local hospital, but he was pronounced deceased.

It is unclear if the 32-year-old woman will face charges.

In Texas, the law that makes it illegal to leave a child in a car alone is called “leaving a child in a vehicle.” This law makes it illegal for anyone to knowingly or intentionally leave a child in a motor vehicle for more than five minutes. An offense is a Class C misdemeanor.

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred late Friday night along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 near Hemphill Street in south Fort Worth. At least two 9-1-1 calls came into Fort Worth dispatch around 10:15pm of a shooting in the area of I-20 and I35W: one from a resident who was injured and another from someone who stated multiple people had been injured.

Officials say two vehicles, both occupied by multiple people, were traveling eastbound along the SW Loop when a shootout occurred between the occupants. Several shots were exchanged as the vehicles drove along the highway. One vehicle exited the highway and stopped along the service road. The other sped off.

During the shootout, an innocent driver in an unrelated vehicle was shot. A stray bullet also injured a man who was sitting in his house along the service road of the highway (California Parkway).

Police say a total of six people were shot, including the two innocent bystanders. One of the victims was shot in the head and transported from the scene with life-threatening injuries. According to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, he died early this morning. He has been identified as a 19-year-old male from Watauga.

Some of the five other victims sustained serious injuries, but Fort Worth police say none are life-threatening.
