Motorcyclist killed after losing control, hitting house in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred yesterday afternoon in the 4300 block of E. Kellis Street in the Echo Heights neighborhood of southeast Fort Worth.

At 4:18pm on Sunday, multiple emergency responders were called to the intersection of E. Kellis Street and Hillside Avenue for a motorcycle accident.

Police say a motorcyclist lost control of his bike after hitting a curb and crashed into a house on E. Kellis Street. The collision ruptured a gas line, causing a major gas leak at the scene. Damage was done to the exterior of the house.

MedStar paramedics transported the injured motorcyclist to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 49-year-old man who lived a few houses down from where the accident occurred.

The accident remains under investigation.

‘Reckless’ driver killed in crash with dump truck, Fort Worth police say

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Sunday morning along southbound Interstate 35W near the Rendon Crowley Road exit.

Multiple emergency responders from Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS were called to the scene after a vehicle and a dump truck were involved in a collision.

Traffic investigators say the driver of a vehicle was driving recklessly when he struck a dump truck. The dump truck overturned, but the driver of the truck was not seriously hurt.

MedStar paramedics transported the driver of the vehicle to JPS Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced deceased later that day. He has been identified as a 33-year-old man from Fort Worth.

Lanes of Interstate 35W were backed up for quite some time while crews cleared up the scene.

I-20 reopened west of Fort Worth after fatal fiery crash involving semis

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal wreck that occurred Saturday evening along eastbound Interstate 20 near FM 4 in the Santo area.

A crash earlier in the day had traffic congested along the eastbound lanes. One 18-wheeler had slowed due to the traffic when the driver of another 18-wheeler failed to control her speed and collided into the back of the first semi truck. This caused the second 18-wheeler to crash into the median and catch fire.

Unfortunately the driver of the 18-wheeler was killed in the crash. She has been identified as a 59-year-old woman from Duncanville. The driver and passenger of the first 18-wheeler were transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 were closed after the crash (around 7:00pm) and remained closed for over 12 hours as crews cleared up the scene. Lanes were eventually reopened around 8:30am this morning.

NOW: Heavy police activity in Wise County after officer involved shooting, search for suspect

Multiple law enforcement agencies including Wise County sheriffs deputies and DPS troopers are on the scene of a reported officer involved shooting in the area of FM 407 near FM 2264 in the New Fairview area of Wise County, just north of Rhome.

Reports indicate one officer has been shot in the leg. It is unclear which agency is involved in the shooting. A Wise County EMS ambulance is transporting the officer into Fort Worth.

A large perimeter has been set up in the immediate area as police search for the suspect, who fled on foot. He is described as a white male, 6’2″, brown hair, green eyes, wearing a backwards baseball hat. He may be wearing biker gear as well. Officers have the area locked down. If you live in the immediate neighborhoods, lock your doors and call 9-1-1 if you spot the suspect.

Officers have told congregants of nearby Hope Church to lock their doors and do not answer.

DPS-101 helicopter and Fort Worth PD helicopter have both been requested to the scene. K-9 will also be working the perimeter.

Expect major police activity in this area. Avoid the area.

Paramedics injured in Fort Worth rollover collision

A MedStar EMS ambulance and another vehicle were involved in a collision late this afternoon near the intersection of Hemphill Street and Interstate 20.

Officials say the MedStar paramedics were responding to an emergency call with lights and siren activated when they were broadsided in the middle of the intersection. They did not say who had the green light.

The vehicle sustained major front end damage and had to be towed from the scene.

All three MedStar crew members sustained minor injuries and were transported to area hospitals for evaluation.

The driver of the other vehicle also received minor injuries and was transported by MedStar to a local hospital.

Motorcyclist dies in crash near Haslet

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred Friday afternoon along Blue Mound Road West just east of Highway 287 in the Haslet area.

Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS all responded to the scene around 3:15pm. Traffic investigators say a motorcyclist was attempting to pass vehicles when a box truck made a legal turn. The motorcyclist struck the box truck as it turned.

Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist deceased on the scene. He has been identified as a 58-year-old man from Fort Worth.

The accident remains under investigation.

I35W closed in Burleson due to a serious crash with vehicle on fire

The Burleson Police Department has closed all northbound lanes of Interstate 35W between Bethesda Road and FM 917 due to a serious crash.

The accident was reported around 9:45am Saturday morning. One of the vehicles caught fire in the collision.

MedStar EMS reports one person has sustained critical injuries in the crash. That individual has been transported to a local hospital in critical condition. CareFlite was called to the scene, but did not transport.

Closure of all northbound lanes is expected to be a prolonged closure. There are delays present on the southbound side as well. It is best to avoid the area altogether.

Driver killed in chain-reaction crash along I35W construction zone

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred late Wednesday evening along southbound Interstate 35W near N. Tarrant Parkway.

Multiple emergency responders from the Fort Worth Fire Department, Police Department, and MedStar EMS were called to the scene around 11:15PM after there were multiple 9-1-1 calls of a multi-vehicle crash.

Traffic investigators say an 18-wheeler had slowed to a stop due to construction in the area. A driver behind the semi truck did not take evasive measures to avoid hitting the truck, and collided with the back end of the trailer. Two other vehicles were unable to properly slow down and hit the vehicle that had collided with the trailer.

The driver of the vehicle who hit the semi sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash and ultimately died at the scene. The drivers and passengers of the other vehicles did not have any major injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Man found dead in water at Grapevine Lake

The Grapevine Police Department is investigating the death of a man at the Scott’s Landing Marina on Grapevine Lake.

This evening at around 7:45pm, a person called 9-1-1 after seeing a man floating face down in the water at one of the boat slips. Paramedics responded immediately and pulled the man from the water, but he was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Relatives of the man are speaking with police at the scene, according to officials. The medical examiner will rule on a cause of death. Officials say there are no obvious signs of trauma or foul play.

The fire department’s dive team also responded to the scene, but was not needed. Police activity in the area is related to this investigation.

Three people shot, one person hit by car during drive-by shooting at Fort Worth food mart

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating the motive behind a late night shooting that injured a total of four people, including three who were shot.

Just before midnight, a suspect drove by Smokey’s Paradise Food Mart, 5310 East Rosedale Street, and opened fire on a large party at the store. Multiple shots were fired and three people sustained gunshot wounds. A fourth individual was struck by a vehicle that was fleeing the scene.

MedStar paramedics transported all injured persons to local hospitals. None received any life-threatening injuries.

Detectives believe this may have been gang related. Units are investigating the incident.
