The Arlington Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old outside the popular summer attraction Hurricane Harbor.

At approximately 7:03pm this evening, an off-duty Arlington police officer working a security assignment at the water park heard the sound of car horns coming from the parking lot. He noticed a group of 6-8 individuals involved in a fight and ran over to break it up. As the officer approached the group, someone fired a gun and injured one young male teen.

Arlington EMS was called to the scene and transported the 16-year-old male to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Officers detained multiple individuals at the scene, but have not arrested anyone for the crime. Investigators are working to determine who is at fault.

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a shootout that led to a total of eight (8) people injured overnight at a banquet hall in the Old East Dallas area near Deep Ellum.

Two separate groups of people were having celebrations at the Salon Para Fiestas banquet hall when an argument between both parties erupted, leading to a fight. The parties were separated, but shots were exchanged shortly thereafter.

As a result, eight people celebrating at the parties were injured, including a 15-year-old and 10-year-old. One victim had to undergo surgery for their wound. All other injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.

There has been no official arrest at this time. Police are still investigating the scene.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident involving a motorcycle that occurred early this morning along Farmer Road (FM 3325) at White Settlement Road.

Officials say the driver of a pickup truck was turning left onto Farmer Road from White Settlement Road when he failed to yield the right of way to a motorcyclist traveling southbound on Farmer Road. This caused a collision between the motorcyclist and the pickup truck.

Parker County ESD #1 firefighters and LifeCare EMS all responded to the scene. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics. He has been identified as a 62-year-old man from Azle.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 57-year-old man from Willow Park, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated and released from the hospital.

Farmer Road was closed for much of the morning while police investigated the scene. All lanes have been reopened.

The White Settlement Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 16-year-old male this morning in the 7600 block of Colton Drive.

At around 4:45am, the teen and his brother, a 15-year-old, were walking in a neighborhood when a man in a vehicle pulled up beside them and accused them of trying to break into his vehicle. The driver pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, hitting the 16-year-old in the chest. He then sped off and was last seen turning left onto Ozona Avenue from Colton Drive.

Police were immediately called to the scene and began life-saving measures on the teenager. He was transported by paramedics to a local hospital, but pronounced deceased.

Detectives believe the brothers were staying with a family member at a local motel less than a mile from the scene.

White Settlement detectives are still gathering information and conducting a neighborhood canvass to see if they can obtain additional information.

“We are asking anyone who lives in the area that has an outside camera to contact the police department so that we can obtain a copy of any video evidence, even if you live several blocks from the scene.”

At around 7:30pm this evening, multiple emergency responders from Grapevine Fire/EMS and Police all responded to a drowning at Grapevine Lake in the area of Minnow Loop and Oak Grove South.

A 33-year-old man was swimming with family and went underwater for approximately 10 minutes. He was not wearing a life jacket, according to firefighters.

He was pulled from the water with CPR in progress.

Paramedics transported him to a local hospital, but he was pronounced deceased.

“Please wear a life jacket when swimming in any open body of water,” said the Grapevine Fire Department in a statement.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife will be investigating the incident. Further updates will be provided when a statement is released.

The Grand Prairie Police Department has arrested a 29-year-old man and charged him in the shooting death of his next door neighbor.

On Sunday at around 1:30am in the morning, Grand Prairie police responded to a shooting at the Spanish Vista Apartments, 2377 Dalworth Street. They found one individual had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.

Detectives say a man in an adjacent apartment recklessly discharged a gun, firing a bullet through the wall and hitting the neighbor in the head. The 32-year-old victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect has been arrested on a charge of Manslaughter.

The case remains under investigation.
