Driver of Tesla hurt after high speed crash off I35W and onto 114

The Northlake Police Department is investigating a high speed crash that injured the driver of a Tesla sedan.
At around 6:45pm last night, Roanoke Fire and EMS along with Northlake police officers were called to the scene at Highway 114 and Interstate 35W, not far from Texas Motor Speedway. Firefighters extricated the driver from the wreckage and he was transported to Baylor Grapevine hospital for treatment of his injuries.
A preliminary investigation of the scene reveals the driver was traveling northbound on Interstate 35W at a high rate of speed when he lost control, went across the grassy median, and landed on Highway 114 below. Police say the driver was changing lanes rapidly.
Eastbound lanes of Highway 114 were closed while Northlake PD and the regional crash investigation team worked the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash and there were no other injuries.
The condition of the 21-year-old driver has not been released.
