Young driver arrested for hitting two Dallas County deputies along I-20
Two Dallas County Sheriff’s Office deputies are recovering from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run crash earlier this morning along Interstate 20 in southwest Dallas.
At around 9:30am this morning, two sheriffs deputies had stopped a driver along the highway for a traffic violation when their patrol vehicle was hit by a passing pickup truck. The driver of the truck continued westbound on I-20 after hitting the officer’s car.
Both deputies were injured in the collision. They were transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The driver of the vehicle involved in the traffic stop was also injured and taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Law enforcement tracked down the driver and arrested him. He has been identified as a 19-year-old man.
