Dallas firefighters rescue three children from burning apartment

The Dallas Fire Rescue responded to an apartment fire just before 12:30am this morning at the Interlace Apartments, 3811 Gannon Lane, in southwest Dallas.
Firefighters reported heavy smoke showing from the two-story apartment building. They were immediately met with residents who stated there were children trapped in the burning apartment unit.
A bystander had already pulled a woman out of the apartment, but firefighters immediately went into rescue operations to locate her children.
Firefighters were able to rescue three children from the burning apartment and also contain the fire to the original unit.
The woman and her children were transported to area hospitals for treatment of exposure to smoke and fire conditions. Their conditions have not yet been released.
Investigators are working to determine what sparked the fire, but they say it started in the living room.
