Teenager killed in Denton County crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Wednesday morning in a rural part of Denton County.

Just before 8:00am, multiple emergency responders were dispatched to the 5000 block of H. Lively Road just south of FM 2449 for a single vehicle crash. Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced the driver deceased on the scene. She was the only occupant inside the vehicle.

Officials say the 16-year-old girl was driving east on H. Lively Road when she failed to negotiate a 90-degree turn in the road. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned into a pasture.

The victim has been identified as a 16-year-old girl from Ponder.

Troopers say she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
