Man kills self at Lockheed Martin main entry gate

The White Settlement Police Department is investigating a death that occurred early this morning at the main entry gate for Lockheed Martin.
At 5:35am, White Settlement police officers were dispatched to the main entry gate at Clifford Street and Spur 341 to assist Lockheed Martin security. When officers arrived, they found a 60s year old man inside a vehicle at the employee entrance deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Investigators believe the man shot himself as he spoke to security members at the front gate. Officials say just prior to the shooting, the man made comments about a federal law enforcement agency. A perimeter was established around the vehicle and Bomb Techs from the Fort Worth Police and Fire Department were called to investigate.
At around 10:30am, Bomb Techs determined the situation was safe. A shotgun was recovered from the vehicle.
White Settlement PD does not know why the main came to the Lockheed Martin gate in the first place.
Several law enforcement agencies from regional, state, and national assets were called to the scene and are participating in the investigation.
We will provide any updates as they become available.
