Child critically hurt in crash at North Richland Hills apartment complex

The North Richland Hills Police Department is investigating a serious crash that left a child critically hurt.

At around 5:00pm, North Richland Hills PD along with Fire/EMS responded to the Oxford at Iron Horse apartment complex in the 6100 block of Browning Drive for a auto pedestrian crash.

When officers arrived, they located a 2-year-old child with serious injuries. Paramedics quickly transported the child to a local hospital in critical condition. As of 10:30pm Monday, there has not been an update on the child’s condition.

The crash occurred inside the apartment complex. The driver that struck the child stayed at the scene and was cooperative throughout the investigation. At this time, police do not expect any charges to be filed.

“At this point in the investigation, the crash appears to be a tragic accident,” said police in a statement.

Crash investigators and crime scene technicians are working to determine how the accident occurred.
