Motorcyclist killed in Wylie crash

The Wylie Police Department says a motorcyclist died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash.

At 11:45am, Wylie Fire/EMS and Police responded to the intersection of Pleasant Valley Rd & S Ballard Avenue for a motorcycle crash. Upon arrival, Wylie officers determined the rider was deceased at the scene.

The motorcyclist has been identified as a 40-year-old man from Wylie.

The accident remains under investigation.

Criminal mischief investigation underway at Dallas Zoo, police say

The Dallas Police Department has started a criminal mischief investigation into the Friday disappearance of a Clouded Leopard.

As reported, Dallas police were contacted Friday by authorities at the Dallas Zoo regarding a missing Clouded Leopard. Officers assisted zoo personnel in the search for the animal which was located at approximately 4:40pm, several hours after the initial report.

Further investigation determined a cutting tool was intentionally used to cut an opening in the fencing of the Clouded Leopard’s habitat. A criminal investigation was initiated after this discovery.

After discovering the cut fencing in the Clouded Leopard habitat, zoo personnel showed investigators a similar cut found at a habitat that enclosed a breed of monkey known as Langurs. All the Langurs were still inside their habitat and did not appear to be harmed, or in any danger. A criminal mischief offense was filed.

Argument leads to fatal shooting in Richardson

The Richardson Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday evening at 901 S. Coit Road.

At around 6:50pm, Richardson police responded to a parking lot at the given address for reports of a shooting. They found a 20-year-old man deceased at the scene.

Detectives determined the victim and two others were involved in an argument that eventually led to the shooting. Officers quickly identified and arrested both suspects. They have been charged with Murder.

Police say all three knew each other.

The incident remains under investigation.

Man shot at apartment complex near UNT

The Denton Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred late Wednesday evening at an apartment complex near the University of North Texas campus.

At 10:18pm, Denton police officers and paramedics responded to a shots fired call at The Quarter Apartments, 1003 Eagle Drive. Officers found an open door at an apartment unit and notified occupants of their presence. They heard a man inside calling for help and immediately rendered medical aid to the conscious victim.

When paramedics arrived, the victim’s conditioned worsened and he slipped unconscious. He was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, but pronounced deceased as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as a 43-year-old man.

As of Thursday morning, the investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made. Driver shot in head during road rage incident in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a shooting secondary to a road rage incident this evening near I35W and Rosedale Street.

At 7:06pm, Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to the 7-11 convenience store near I35W and Rosedale Street for a shooting. Officers located a driver with a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim told police he was driving northbound on I35W when a road rage incident occurred between himself and another driver. The other driver pulled out a gun and shot it into the victim’s vehicle, striking him in the head. The suspect then fled the scene in a dark colored sedan.

MedStar paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. His condition is reported as stable.

The incident remains under investigation.

Pedestrian killed while trying to cross Loop 12, Dallas police say

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred on southbound Loop 12 earlier this morning.

At 8:50am this morning, Dallas Police and Fire Rescue responded to a crash in the southbound lanes of Loop 12 near Interstate 30.

Investigators say a driver had been involved in a minor accident on the highway and had exited the vehicle. The individual attempted to cross the highway, but was struck by a passing vehicle not originally involved in the minor accident. The person died at the scene.

The driver stopped and remained at the scene.

Loop 12 has been reopened following the accident investigation.

Woman killed, child hurt in crash north of Weatherford

A 39-year-old woman was killed and a young child hurt in a crash near Weatherford.

At 7:33am, multiple agencies from Parker County and Weatherford were dispatched to the intersection of Farm to Market Road 51 and Old Agnes Road.

A preliminary investigation determined the woman attempted to turn left onto southbound FM 51 from westbound Old Springtown Road when her vehicle was t-boned by a commercial truck. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 10-year-old passenger was transported to a Fort Worth hospital with injuries.

The driver of the commercial truck was not hurt.

FM 51 was closed while DPS investigated the scene.

One killed, one badly hurt in crash near Denton

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash near Denton.

On Sunday afternoon at 2:59pm, emergency responders from Krum and Denton County were dispatched to a crash at Farm to Market Road 1173 and Lovers Lane Road.

Authorities say the driver of a pickup truck was traveling westbound on FM 1173 when he braked and veered into oncoming traffic to avoid a collision with stopped traffic. When he veered into the eastbound lane, he hit an SUV head-on.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene. She has been identified as a 42-year-old woman from Krum.

The driver of the pickup truck was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with critical injuries. He has been identified as a 55-year-old man from Krum.

The crash remains under investigation.

Man wielding machete-style knife killed by Fort Worth police

The Fort Worth Police Department says one person has died following an officer involved shooting at a south Fort Worth neighborhood.

At 5:45pm, Fort Worth police were dispatched to a residence in the 3500 block of Wedgworth Road South after a woman called 9-1-1 to report her adult son was armed with a knife.

First-arriving officers observed the subject armed with a machete-style knife, police say. Officers gave multiple verbal commands to the suspect to drop the knife, but he refused.

The suspect presented the officers with a deadly threat, causing two officers to fire their weapons in response, striking the suspect.

Despite medical aid rendered at the scene, he was pronounced deceased.

The incident remains under investigation.

Intoxicated woman critically hurt after crashing into Dallas fire truck

Dallas police say a woman has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated after crashing into a Dallas fire truck.

At around 2:30am this morning, Dallas firefighters were working a crash on I35E near Storey Lane when a woman collided into the back of a blocker unit. Blocker units are retired fire apparatus used to block highway scenes for personnel safety.

Dallas paramedics transported the woman to a local hospital in critical condition.

No firefighters were injured.
