Fort Worth police investigating double fatality crash on I-30

At 2:26am Saturday morning, emergency responders from Fort Worth FD and PD along with Medstar EMS responded to the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near Alta Mere for a major accident.

Authorities say a motorcyclist was traveling westbound on the interstate when we struck a sedan stopped along the highway. It is unclear if the sedan was parked on the highway or on the shoulder.

Upon impact of this collision, the motorcyclist was ejected from the bike.

A woman standing outside of the sedan was struck when the motorcycle collided with the vehicle.

Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Lanes of I30 were closed for approximately five hours while FWPD investigated the crash.

Father stabs 9-year-old son to death in McKinney

The McKinney Police Department has announced Capital Murder charges against a father in the stabbing death of his 9-year-old son.

At around 4:00pm, a resident in the 400 block of Anson Court called 9-1-1 to report a neighbor had arrived home to find her son unconscious at the residence.

First-arriving officers forced entry into the home and found a man in the act of self-harm. Police subdued him before he could cause additional injury to himself. As officers searched the residence, they located the 9-year-old boy in the garage. He was pronounced deceased from multiple stab wounds.

The suspect is currently undergoing treatment for his injuries. McKinney police have identified the suspect as the victim’s father. Police say Capital Murder charges are pending against him.

Detectives say this murder was an isolated domestic incident. There is no ongoing threat to the community.

Five shot, three fatally, at north Dallas apartment complex

The Dallas Police Department responded to a shooting in the 7500 block of Lazy Acres Circle around 4:30am this morning.

When officers arrived, they located multiple gunshot wound victims in the back parking lot of the complex. Dallas paramedics transported two of the victims to local hospitals, one critical and one stable. Three victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives say all five were at a gathering in the parking lot when the shooting took place. They don’t believe it was a random shooting.

Police have not made any arrests yet.

Fort Worth PD investigating a death on W. Vickery Blvd

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man near the 7100 block of W. Vickery Blvd.

At 7:21am Thursday morning, Fort Worth police were initially dispatched to an auto pedestrian crash at the given location. First arriving officers located the victim approximately 30 feet off the roadway.

Accident investigators responded to the scene, but could not determine the person died from a vehicle accident. Homicide detectives were notified as well due to observed trauma on the victim’s body.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office took possession of the body and will determine cause of death for this person.

Pedestrian dies after being struck by train near Kennedale

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office says one person has died after being struck by a Union Pacific train near Kennedale.

At around 12:53pm this afternoon, Kennedale Fire Department, Rendon Fire Department, and Tarrant County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 7500 block of Hudson Cemetery Road for a pedestrian struck by a train.

Sheriffs deputies arrived within minutes and began life-saving measures on the individual. Paramedics continued life-saving measures, but the person was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

18-wheeler plunges off I45 in Dallas County; driver killed

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office has released an update on this morning’s crash at Interstate 45 and Malloy Bridge Road.

Authorities say the driver of a UPS 18-wheeler collided with a guardrail and crashed through a concrete bridge barrier, plunging the truck off the highway and into a creek below. Dallas Fire Rescue’s Dive Team assisted in the recovery of the driver, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

As of 7:30pm, emergency responders are still working to clean up the scene. Drivers traveling through this area can expect delays.

Multiple agencies responded to the crash including Hutchins Fire Rescue, Dallas Fire Rescue, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, and others.

Eastbound 635 closed due to fatal 18-wheeler rollover crash

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident along the eastbound lanes of IH-635 near Hillcrest Road.

At 4:30pm this afternoon, Dallas Fire Rescue crews and Dallas PD officers responded to the scene and located an overturned FedEx 18-wheeler. The crash caused significant damage to the cab, killing the driver. Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.

All lanes of eastbound 635 are closed while TxDOT crews clear up the scene. An accident investigation is also ongoing.

It is best to avoid this area.

Man killed after crash, shooting at Fort Worth’s Alliance Town Center

The Fort Worth Police Department says a series of events led to the shooting death of an adult man.

At 12:20pm, Fort Worth police officers responded to the area of Dicks Sporting Goods in Alliance Town Center for reports of a shooting. One gunshot victim was located at the scene and transported to a local hospital. He was later pronounced deceased.

Investigators say the man was involved in a vehicle crash with another driver on the roadway. He attempted to flee the scene, but the vehicle became disabled in the Alliance Town Center parking lot. The man exited his vehicle and approached the other vehicle while armed with a handgun. The other driver, also armed, fired at least one shot, striking the man.

The shooter has been identified and will be interviewed by detectives.

There have been no arrests made at this time.

UPDATE: One killed, one arrested after racing vehicle crashes off I30 in Arlington

The Arlington Police Department says one driver was killed and another arrested following a racing-related crash.

At around 5:14pm Sunday evening, Arlington Fire, Police, and EMS responded to the scene of a major accident on westbound Interstate 30 near Fielder Road. First arriving crews located an overturned vehicle off the highway submerged in a small body of water. The department’s Technical Rescue Team from Station 8 and Dive Team from Station 7 all responded to assist in the rescue.

Firefighters extricated both men from the vehicle. The driver, a 27-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 22-year-old passenger was transported by Arlington EMS to a Fort Worth hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe the driver was racing a second vehicle on Interstate 30 when he attempted to pass a vehicle on the right shoulder. He lost control while attempting the pass and crashed off the highway.

The 23-year-old driver of the other vehicle stopped after the crash and remained at the scene. After speaking with police, they arrested him for one count of Racing on a Highway Causing Serious Bodily Injury / Death.

“The Arlington Police Department wants to remind the public that street racing is not only incredibly dangerous, it’s a serious crime that will not be tolerated.”

Stray bullet hits boy watching fireworks, Arlington police say

The Arlington Police Department says a 12-year-old boy sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his neck while outside looking at fireworks.

At around 12:20am this morning, Arlington police and paramedics responded to the 200 block of Roberts Circle to investigate a shooting. They located the juvenile victim at the scene and transported him to a local hospital.

Family members tell police they all went outside to watch a nearby fireworks display when suddenly the boy was struck by a stray bullet. “At this point, it’s unclear where the bullet came from,” said Arlington PD.

He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
