UPDATES: Tarrant County deputy shot; suspect in custody
At 3:42pm today, Fort Worth police officers were dispatched to a shooting at the Fort Worth Community Credit Union, 6454 Brentwood Stair Road, and reports of an injured officer.
Officers arrived within a minute and found an off-duty Tarrant County sheriff’s deputy had been shot twice. MedStar paramedics also arrived a short time later and transported the deputy to JPS Hospital. Several Fort Worth PD and Tarrant County SO officers assisted with closing roadways for the ambulance’s expedited transport.
According to Tarrant County Judge O’Hare, the deputy was working security at the bank in an off-duty capacity. He was in full uniform at the time of the incident.
As of 6:15pm, the deputy was in surgery. His condition was not released by officials.
The suspect was tracked to a residential neighborhood not far from the scene, where he was taken into custody.

UPDATE – The deputy has made it out of surgery and is expected to survive, says Sheriff Bill Waybourn. He was shot twice: once in the abdomen and once in the chest. He returned fire, but did not shoot the suspect.
