Arlington police respond to shooting at Parks Mall

At 7:30pm Thursday evening, Arlington Police, Fire, and EMS responded to a possible active shooting at the Parks Mall, 3800 S. Cooper Street.

When officers arrived, they found two people injured. Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the circumstances; however, they can confirm it was not an active shooter, but an isolated incident. A fight between at least two groups of individuals broke out on the escalator near the ice skating rink and shots were fired.

As of 10:30pm, no arrests have been made. Police believe the shooter left the mall.

Officers have conducted primary and secondary sweeps of the mall to ensure all patrons have been escorted out of the building.

We will have additional information when released by officials.
