The Arlington Police Department is investigating a multi-vehicle wreck that resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man and the hospitalization of two others.  

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of N. Watson Road near Division Street after receiving reports that a vehicle and multiple pedestrians had been struck by an SUV.

When they arrived on scene, officers found the 31-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman lying injured on the ground. Both were transported to a local hospital where the man was later pronounced deceased. The woman is listed in critical condition.

First responders also had to extricate the driver of a vehicle, a 34-year-old female, who was involved in the crash. She was also transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Investigators determined the 42-year-old woman had been driving along N. Watson Road, lost control of her vehicle, and went off the roadway. She then called family members to come assist her. A 31-year-old man arrived at the location in an SUV, activated his hazard lights, and parked in the right lane. While he and the 42-year-old woman were out of their vehicles attempting to get a tow cable from the SUV, the vehicle approached the area at a high rate of speed and struck both of them, as well as the SUV.

Charges are pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation. Crash investigators have not ruled out the possibility that alcohol may be a factor. 

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased.
