At least 16 hurt in Fort Worth crash involving over a dozen motorcycles
On Friday, April 18th, at around 8:41pm, Fort Worth Fire and Police along with MedStar EMS responded to a major accident involving a fire on southbound I35W near Heritage Trace Parkway.
When first arriving units made the scene, they found several motorcycles involved in a crash with at least one on fire.
A total of 10 ambulances have been sent to the scene, which has been declared as a Mass Casualty Incident.
As of 10:00pm Friday, the patient count stood at 16: four critical, five serious, and seven minor. Several people have been transported to area hospitals with traumatic injuries.
Initial reports indicate there was at least a dozen motorcycles involved in the crash. That number could rise as police investigate the scene.
Southbound I35W remains closed near Heritage Trace while accident investigation takes place. It’s best to avoid this area.
