Multiple injured, one dead in early morning Deep Ellum shooting
On July 5, 2025, at approximately 2:25 a.m., Dallas police officers were flagged down about a shooting that occurred under a bridge at Canton Street and South Good Latimer Expressway.
The preliminary investigation determined that upon arrival, officers observed multiple people shot in a parking lot.
Officers confronted an individual with a gun, and one officer fired their weapon.
Officers immediately provided life saving measures to the injured persons.
All injured persons were transported to local hospitals where one died. At this time, it is unknown if the person who died was killed in the original shooting or the secondary officer involved shooting.
Multiple weapons were recovered.
No officers were injured.
The Dallas County District Attorney’s office was notified and responded to the scene and will conduct their own investigation.
