Major crash involving school bus and entrapment reported in Crowley

Crowley FD/EMS and PD are on scene of a major accident reportedly involving a commercial vehicle and a school bus at the intersection of FM 1187 and McCart Ave. Crowley FD reports no children were on the bus.

Burleson FD is responding with several apparatus to assist with extrication. Rendon FD is also sending an additional ambulance to the scene. Firefighters are working to stabilize the school bus.

Unknown severity of injuries at this time. There are major delays in the area.

Dallas SWAT officer kills homicide suspect armed with assault rifle

The Dallas Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting related to an earlier homicide that occurred yesterday, September 25th, in the 5200 block of S. Lamar Street.

Officers were conducting surveillance on a vehicle in the 9300 block of Skillman Street. The vehicle was associated with a homicide earlier in the day at a cafe in the 5200 block of S. Lamar Street. In that offense, multiple suspects attempted to rob a cafe, and shot and killed an employee in the process.

While officers were watching the suspect’s vehicle, homicide detectives were obtaining a warrant. Officers requested SWAT to the scene for assistance in apprehending the suspect(s) involved.

At around 12:30AM this morning, SWAT officers arrived at the location and attempted to take down the suspects in the vehicle. During the takedown, the suspects exited the vehicle and attempted to flee.

Police say one of the suspects was carrying an assault rifle. During the foot pursuit, the SWAT officer discharged his weapon, striking the suspect. The suspect was pronounced deceased on the scene. Officers were not injured during the pursuit.

The remaining suspects were taken into custody for questioning. The incident remains under investigation.

Man dies after being struck by train in Alvarado

The Alvarado Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash involving a pedestrian struck by a train.

The incident occurred just before 1:44AM this morning at the railroad tracks on County Road 401 just west of FM 3136 / I35W. When emergency responders arrived, they located a deceased person struck by a train.

The victim has been identified as a 34-year-old male from Alvarado. He died due to multiple trauma injuries sustained in the crash.

Police are still investigating the incident.

Man flown to hospital following traumatic injury in Cleburne

Cleburne police and fire departments responded to a traumatic injury at the Superior Concrete products facility, 2020 Weatherford Highway, earlier this morning.

It is reported that a man was pinned between concrete equipment. EMS responded to the scene and requested a medical helicopter.

CareFlite responded to the scene and airlifted the patient to Harris Methodist Fort Worth, unknown condition.

No other details reported at this time.

UPDATE: Two people in custody after high speed chase from Euless to Arlington

Euless PD and assisting agencies have taken two people into custody following a lengthy pursuit at high speeds.

According to reports, the pursuit started when a Euless PD squad car was struck by the suspect’s vehicle after the officer responded to an aggravated assault. The vehicle was damaged, but no officers were injured. Officers gave chase.

The pursuit continued westbound over to Loop 820 where it continued southbound for a few miles. The black Dodge vehicle was occupied by two individuals.

After traveling on southbound 820 for a few miles at speeds reported near 100MPH, the suspects u-turned at the 820 and Sun Valley intersection to go back northbound 820. The pursuit continued through the east side of Fort Worth, eventually going eastbound on I30 into Arlington.

The suspects exited off I30 at Cooper Street, went southbound on Cooper Street, reportedly traveling the wrong way at times. Police caught up and the pursuit ended near the intersection of Mitchell Street near Cooper Street in the central Arlington area. Two people have been taken into custody at this time.

UPDATE: Man armed with “large knives” shot by Plano police

The Plano Police Department issued a press release this afternoon following an officer-involved shooting that occurred yesterday (Monday) morning in the 800 block of E. Parker Road.

Police responded to reports of a stabbing incident at the given location. Upon arrival, an officer observed a man wielding large knives in each hand. The man had reportedly been chasing down another person.

The officer gave multiple commands for the man to drop the weapons, but he refused. The man continued to behave aggressively towards the other individual and made advances with the weapons. After failing to comply with commands, the officer fired multiple shots, striking the armed suspect.

Once shot, the suspect attempted to use the knives on himself, but additional officers were able to stop him from doing so.

The suspect, who has now been identified as a 25-year-old male, was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital, but later released.

The investigation is still in progress.

Pedestrian dies attempting to cross I30 in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriffs Office says a male was struck and killed by two vehicles this morning as he attempted to cross the highway on foot.

DSO and DFR responded to the scene in the main lanes of I30 near Beckley Ave around 5:11AM.

Police say a man was attempting to cross the freeway on foot when he was struck by a Toyota truck and an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler jack-knifed and partially leaked fluids into the roadway.

Detectives believe the deceased male is in his late 40’s, but the Dallas County Medical Examiner will make positive identification of the victim.

No additional details to provide at this time.

Driver dies in multi-vehicle fire crash on I20 in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriffs Office and Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a serious crash with vehicle fire along eastbound I20 near Mountain Creek Parkway last night (Sunday) at around 11:32PM.

When emergency responders arrived on the scene, they located a fiery crash involving a truck and travel tailer and a vehicle. Firefighters put the fire out, and located a deceased person inside the vehicle.

A preliminary investigation of the scene reveals the truck and trailer had stopped on the left shoulder of the freeway due to a mechanical issue. The vehicle impacted the truck and trailer, killing its driver on impact. Police say there were reports that a small vehicle matching the description of the one involved had been speeding prior to the crash.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner will confirm identification, but DSO says they believe the deceased is a 26-year-old white female.

No other details have been released.

Search continues for missing man on Lake Granbury

Multiple law enforcement and fire/EMS agencies have been searching for a man reported missing on Lake Granbury since late Saturday night.

Emergency responders were called to Lake Granbury on Saturday night at around 11:30PM for a boater who either fell or jumped off a boat and did not resurface. Brazos River Authority, Texas Game Wardens, and local firefighters with Granbury and Indian Harbor conducted searches on the water, but the man was not recovered.

Searches continued yesterday (Sunday) and this morning, but the man has not been recovered at this time.
