Two occupants dead after vehicle plunges into Trinity River in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a major accident that fatally injured two occupants of a vehicle during the overnight hours.
Multiple emergency responders from Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS all responded to a major incident involving a person in the water near the 600 block of N. University Drive, just south of Rockwood Park Drive. The crash happened around 2:30AM.
The vehicle reportedly lost control, hit the guardrail, and plunged into the west fork of the Trinity River.
Two people were located and pronounced deceased. MedStar EMS tweeted that they responded to treat one civilian who jumped into the water in an attempt to save the individuals.
The victims have not yet been publicly identified at this time.
