EVACUATIONS ORDERED DUE TO GAS LINE FIRE IN GRAND PRAIRIE

The Following Message Is Transmitted At The Request Of The City Of Grand Prairie Emergency Management. A Large Natural Gas Fire Is In Progress Near Mayfield Rd And Forum Drive In Grand Prairie. Emergency Management Officials Have Requested The Immediate Evacuation Of All Residences And Businesses In The Following Areas

If You Live Between Mayfield Road And Interstate 20 And Between Hwy 360 And Great Sw Parkway You Are Advised To Evacuate Immediately To The East Or West Using Either Interstate 20 Or Mayfield Road.

Civil Emergency Message was issued on April 18 at 12:02PM CDT by the National Weather Service in Dallas-Fort Worth.

UPDATE from Grand Prairie FD: Thank you for your patience as we work to mitigate the gas leak located at Mayfield Rd and 360. We will notify you via social media and city website gptx.org as soon as it is safe to return home.

Update from Grand Prairie FD: Atmos has stopped the gas flow and the fire is out. Any residual gas is under controlled-release at this time. GPFD and Atmos are currently checking buildings for elevated gas levels. And, Oncor is in the process of restoring power. All residents under the evacuation area are now allowed to safely return home. If you have any concerns, such as a gas odor inside your residence, please contact the fire department.
