Tornado WATCH issued for North Texas, including Dallas / Fort Worth

The US National Weather Service has issued a Tornado WATCH for a large portion of North Texas, including the immediate Dallas and Fort Worth areas, until 9PM.

Storms are expected to fire soon along the dry line, which is currently west of the DFW Metroplex. As storms initiate, they will strengthen and move east into our area.

The Tornado WATCH does not include Johnson and Ellis counties at this time, but it does include Dallas and Tarrant counties and areas north.

Main impacts include: heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, damaging hail, and possibly a tornado.

The best chance of storms in the DFW Metroplex is from now until about 8PM.
