Two dead following crash, officer involved shooting in Wylie

The Wylie Police Department has requested assistance from the Texas Rangers law enforcement agency to help with an officer involved shooting incident that occurred overnight.

Just before 2:30am this morning, Wylie police officers were called to the CVS at 750 W. Kirby Street for a major accident. An officer conducting an unrelated traffic stop in the parking lot responded immediately.

The officer observed two people laying in the parking lot: a woman, who was suffering from a serious injury, and a man armed with a rifle. While the officer attempted to provide medical assistance to the woman, the officer shot the armed man. Exact details surrounding the shooting have not been released.

Paramedics responded to the scene, but pronounced both the woman and the man deceased of their injuries. Police have not stated the relationship between the man and woman. They are investigating her death as a murder, but did not say how she was injured.

Identities have not yet been released.

Motorcyclist killed in overnight northwest Dallas crash

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident involving a motorcycle that occurred overnight along northbound I35E near Harry Hines Blvd.

Just after midnight, Dallas Fire-Rescue and DSO deputies were called to the scene after they received 9-1-1 calls of a motorcycle crash.

Officials say a man was riding his motorcycle northbound in the center lane when he lost control and laid down the bike. He was then struck by two vehicles.

The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene by Dallas Fire-Rescue paramedics. His identity has not been released.

The accident remains under investigation.

Driver killed after 18-wheeler veers into lane along highway in Hill County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred along Highway 174 in Hill County yesterday (Monday) morning near the small town of Blum.

At approximately 11:30am, multiple emergency responders were called to the scene of a crash along Highway 174 near County Road 1104 just west of Blum.

A preliminary investigation of the scene reveals an 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on the highway when the driver was forced to swerve into the northbound lane to avoid hitting another 18-wheeler that had slowed to turn left onto County Road 1104. When the 18-wheeler swerved, a northbound vehicle collided with the trailer.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a 38-year-old man from Kopperl. No other injuries were reported.

“Do not drive beyond your limitations. Slowing down gives you more time to react and allows you more time to see what’s ahead,” reminds DPS.

Driver found dead after flipping SUV into Trinity River in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight along Beach Street near Interstate 30.

At around 12:25am, multiple emergency responders from the Fort Worth Fire Department, Police Department, and MedStar EMS were called to the 2000 block of Beach Street just north of Interstate 30.

Officials say the driver of an SUV lost control of his vehicle while driving along Beach Street and flipped over the guardrail into the Trinity River. A tow truck was called to pull the vehicle from the water. The driver, who was the only occupant, was found deceased inside the vehicle.

He has been identified as a 40-year-old man from Haltom City.

Young woman killed in Denton motorcycle accident

The Denton Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred last night (Wednesday) along Country Club Road south of the city.

At around 9:30pm ono Wednesday night, Denton Fire Department and Police Department were called to the scene on Country Club Road between Brush Creek Road and Hickory Creek Road.

Reports indicate a female motorcycle operator crashed off the side of the road. Paramedics transported her to Medical City Denton, but she was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The operator has been identified as a 29-year-old woman from Ponder.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Vehicle goes airborne in Johnson County crash; driver killed

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a single vehicle fatality accident that occurred on Tuesday, March 9th, along FM 916 in Johnson County.

Just before 9:00pm on Tuesday evening, multiple emergency responders were called to the 4300 block of East FM 916 in the Rio Vista area after a vehicle was reportedly involved in a collision.

DPS Troopers arrived on scene to find the driver was out of the vehicle. Paramedics pronounced him deceased on the scene. He has been identified as a 54-year-old man from Cleburne.

A preliminary investigation of the scene reveals the man was traveling west on FM 916 when he drifted off the roadway and hit a culvert. The impact caused the vehicle to go airborne and hit a tree. Officials say the driver was able to crawl out of the vehicle, but his injuries were too severe.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police investigating after dead man found laying on sidewalk along busy Richardson roadway

The Richardson Police Department has launched a homicide investigation into the fatal stabbing death of a 48-year-old man late last night.

Just before midnight last night, a Richardson police officer was flagged down by a pedestrian who found a body laying on the sidewalk along W. Campbell Road near Custer Road.

Police say the man had been fatally stabbed multiple times.

Detectives believe the victim may have been involved in a fight while walking to his vehicle, having just left his nearby business.

Intoxicated wrong-way driver causes crash that kills two young women in Irving

The Irving Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred around 2:45am overnight.

Irving police officers and firefighters responded to the scene along southbound State Highway 161 at the Highway 183 interchange. The crash involved two vehicles with entrapment.

Officials say a 23-year-old woman was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of State Highway 161 when she collided head-on with another car.

Two people inside the vehicle hit by the wrong way driver were pronounced deceased at the scene. They have both been identified as a 21-year-old woman and an 18-year-old woman. The driver of their vehicle, a 21-year-old man, sustained critical injuries. A dog riding in the vehicle was also killed.

The wrong way driver sustained serious injuries. Police are expecting to charge her with two counts of Intoxication Manslaughter and one count of Intoxication Assault.

The investigation is ongoing.

18-year-old fleeing from police in stolen vehicle causes crash, kills innocent driver in Dallas

At around 2:00am early this morning, Grand Prairie police officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in the area of Pioneer Parkway and Belt Line Road. The driver took off, leading police on a high speed pursuit into the city of Dallas.

As the fleeing driver approached the intersection of N. Peak Street and Ross Avenue in Old East Dallas, he ran a red light and collided with another driver. Unfortunately, the innocent driver was pronounced deceased on the scene by Dallas Fire Rescue paramedics.

The driver of the stolen pickup truck, identified as an 18-year-old man, and a juvenile passenger were not seriously injured. They were both arrested. The driver has pending charges of Murder, Unlawful Use of Motor Vehicle, and Evading Arrest.

The Dallas Police Department is leading the crash investigation.

Dallas police officer arrested in the kidnapping, killing of two people

The Dallas Police Department has arrested one of their own officers and charged him with Capital Murder in the kidnapping and killings of two people back in 2017.

Officer Bryan Riser, who has been on the force since 2008, was arrested for his role in the two killings. An arrest affidavit indicates Riser directed an individual to kidnap and murder two people: a 31-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man. The motive for the killings is not clear, although one of the victims was reportedly an informant.

Both victims were shot and dumped into the Trinity River in the Cedars area. The woman’s body was recovered, but the man’s was never found.

Bryan Riser has been booked into jail on two counts of Capital Murder. The investigation is ongoing.
