Toddler shot after man fires multiple rounds into vehicle at Dallas gas station

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning at the Shell gas station, 3915 Linfield Road, off Interstate 45 and Loop 12.

Detectives say the driver of silver SUV fired multiple shots into another vehicle at the gas station, critically injuring a 3-year-old little girl. Paramedics transported her to a local hospital in critical condition. There is no update on her condition at this time.

Police are looking for the Hispanic driver of the vehicle pictured below.

Man shot and killed in north Dallas road rage shooting

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a road rage shooting that occurred late last night in the area of Central Expressway and Mockingbird Lane.

At around 9:45pm last night, Dallas officers responded to a shooting at 5601 North Central Expressway service road near Mockingbird Lane. A 22-year-old male suspect, his wife, and their 1-year-old child were involved in a road rage incident. The suspect told officers that a man followed them and rammed their vehicle multiple times.

At one point, the man attempted to get into the family vehicle, leading the suspect to shoot the man through the window. Paramedics transported him to a local hospital, but he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 36-year-old man.

The 22-year-old suspect and his wife were taken to Dallas Police HQ for further investigation. The suspect was later released pending further investigation and referral to a Dallas County grand jury.

The incident remains under investigation.

Intoxicated man arrested for causing crash that killed child in Grand Prairie

The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that claimed the life of a child.

At around 11:40pm, a driver stopped his vehicle in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 near the Belt Line Road exit after fleeing from the scene of another crash up the highway. As he stopped on the highway, a passenger vehicle rear-ended his vehicle.

The driver of the passenger car who collided with the stopped vehicle was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. There were two children inside the vehicle who were also transported to a children’s hospital. Unfortunately, one of the children died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Both children were properly restrained in the back seat of the car.

The driver who stopped on the highway, identified as a 31-year-old man, was found to be intoxicated at the time of the collision. He has been arrested and charged with one count of Intoxication Manslaughter and two counts of Intoxication Assault.

Lancaster police shoot, kill man who fired shots inside apartment

The Lancaster Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred early this morning at the Rosemont Apartments in the 1600 block of N. Houston School Road.

Officials say the man was originally involved in a disturbance with a female last night (Sunday). He was taken to Charlton hospital for evaluation for treatment of possible mental illness, but the hospital released him.

At around 5:42am this morning, Lancaster police were dispatched to a shooting at the Rosemont Apartments. The same man from last night had fired several shots inside an apartment. A woman and two juveniles were inside the apartment as well.

Officers made contact with the man, which resulted in the officers firing shots at the suspect. The suspect was hit and transported to Methodist Dallas hospital, but pronounced deceased.

Lancaster PD have not released any additional information regarding this incident.

Three people extricated and flown from crash near Granbury

Yesterday afternoon, a Pecan Plantation Fire Department brush truck was leaving the scene of a grass fire when the crew drove upon a major crash that had just occurred on Mambrino Highway near Kelly Drive. Additional assistance was requested from fire and EMS responders due to people trapped in the vehicle.

Pecan Plantation FD/EMS, Granbury FD, and Indian Harbor VFD all responded to assist with extricating the three trapped individuals. Texas EMS and Pecan EMS responded with multiple ambulances.

Three medical helicopters were requested to the scene: one from Air Evac Lifeteam and two from CareFlite. The helicopters landed at nearby Mambrino Elementary School. Two people were flown to JPS and one was flown to Harris downtown. No status has been given, but all individuals are reported to be stable.

We are waiting on official details from the Texas Department of Public Safety, and will update this story when they provide a statement.

Driver killed in Johnson County crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred on Tuesday morning on FM 916 outside of Rio Vista.

At around 7:30am Tuesday morning, multiple emergency responders from Johnson County were called to the scene of a two vehicle crash on FM 916 just east of Rio Vista proper.

Traffic investigators believe the driver of a passenger car was traveling east on FM 916 when she veered off the roadway, overcorrected, and veered into the oncoming lane of traffic. A box truck traveling east on FM 916 struck the passenger vehicle head-on.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported by CareFlite helicopter to Texas Health Fort Worth Hospital with major injuries, and later died. She has been identified as a 38-year-old female from Cleburne.

The driver of the box truck was not seriously injured.

Investigation underway after man shot and killed by Mesquite police

The Mesquite Police Department is currently investigating an officer involved shooting at the Audubon Park Apartments, 5100 Northwest Drive.

According to officials, a 9-1-1 call came into Mesquite PD at around 7:45am this morning. The call taker could hear screams in the background and believed an assault was taking place. Dispatchers tracked the number to the Audubon Park Apartments and sent officers to check on the situation.

At least two officers responded to the apartment complex. When they arrived, there was a confrontation between the officers and a male suspect. During the encounter, two officers shot the suspect. They immediately began life-saving measures and called paramedics to assist. The man was taken to a local hospital, but pronounced deceased.

Officials say Mesquite officers had been called to deal with the couple in the past. It has been reported that the victim has mental illnesses.

Mesquite PD will be releasing additional information later this afternoon.

Significant damage reported along I35E in Ellis County after tornado hit

Multiple emergency responders are currently responding to a major incident on Interstate 35E near Johnson Road between Waxahachie and Forreston in Ellis County.

At around 9:00pm, a tornado crossed the highway at the given location. The tornado has flipped at least two 18-wheelers and reports of people trapped in the wreckage.

All lanes of northbound and southbound I35E are currently blocked in this area due to significant damage.

Body found in apartment pool believed to be missing autistic boy

The Dallas Police Department is investigating an unfortunate incident involving a young autistic child.

On Friday morning, 8-year-old Keydall Jones was reported missing. He was last seen at an apartment complex in the 13600 block of Montfort Drive. Dallas police issued a Critical Missing Person alert since Keydall was autistic and nonverbal.

Officers and K-9 searched the area throughout the day Friday and into the evening hours, but he was not located.

At around 8:00am today (Saturday), officers discovered a body in the apartment complex swimming pool. Dallas Fire Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.

Although the victim has not yet been identified, those close to the situation indicate it is the missing boy. Positive identification will be released by officials when confirmed.

Armed man shot by police during domestic disturbance call in Pelican Bay

The Pelican Bay Police Department is investigating an officer involved shooting that occurred late Friday night in the 1500 block of Long Avenue in Pelican Bay.

At around 11:30pm, police officers were called to the house for a domestic disturbance situation. One person was reportedly armed with a weapon.

As officers encountered the armed person, one officer shot the suspect. A law enforcement official with knowledge of the situation says officers gave multiple verbal commands for the suspect to drop the weapon, but he did not comply.

The suspect was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. His condition has not yet been released.

The Texas Rangers are investigating this incident.
