17-year-old in custody after Arlington murder
The Arlington Police Department was notified that an 18-year-old man who was critically injured in a recent shooting has died from his injuries. The case is now being investigated as a homicide.
On Monday June 24, 2024, at approximately 7:24 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Claire Court to investigate a reported shooting.
When they arrived on scene, they found the 18-year-old man, as well as a 20-year-old man, with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to area hospitals.
The 20-year-old’s injuries are non-life threatening. The 18-year-old was pronounced deceased on June 26, 2024.
Investigators believe both victims arranged to meet the suspected shooter in the neighborhood to engage in high-risk drug activity. Shortly after they arrived, the suspect pulled out a gun and began shooting at the vehicle the two victims were in at the time, striking both of them. The suspect then left the scene.
Following a thorough investigation, Homicide detectives identified the suspect as 17-year-old Joshua Nunn. They obtained warrants for his arrest on one count of Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Mr. Nunn turned himself in at the Tarrant County Jail this morning (Thursday, June 27, 2024).
His bond has been set at $600,000.
