The Dallas Sheriff’s Office is investigating two serious accidents involving pedestrians fatally struck by vehicles.
The first occurred last night at 10:06PM in the northbound lanes of I35E at Continental Ave. Dallas Fire-Rescue and sheriffs responded to the scene and found a woman lying deceased in a lane of travel. Police say a driver was northbound on the highway when he noticed an object in his lane. He did not have enough time to take evasive action, and struck the female. A second vehicle hit the female as well. Detectives believe the deceased is a 52-year-old female.
The second occurred last night about an hour and a half after the previous crash. Emergency personnel were called to the scene of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes of I35E just north of Riverfront Blvd exit ramp. Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced the victim, believed to be a 52-year-old male, deceased on the scene. Police say he was struck by a vehicle who did not have enough time to take evasive action to avoid hitting him.
There was another fatality accident involving a motorcycle earlier in the afternoon along the eastbound lanes of I30 at Loop 12. Police have released additional information on that crash, stating the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and making quick lane changes when it crashed into the back of a pickup truck.
