Motorcyclist weaving in and out of traffic killed in crash on 635 in Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred this morning in the westbound lanes of LBJ (635) near Midway Road.

Around 7AM this morning, Dallas police officers and fire rescue personnel were called to the scene after a motorcyclist was involved in a crash with other vehicles.

Investigators say the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic when he laid down the motorcycle to keep from slamming into the back of a box truck.

After he crashed his motorcycle, a vehicle struck him as he laid in the roadway. This caused the vehicle to swerve and hit another vehicle as well.

Both drivers remained at the scene.

The motorcyclist, who is only being identified as a male at this time, was pronounced deceased by DFR.

Lanes of the highway were closed while police investigated the scene, but have since been reopened.

Four suspects rob 53 guns from Richardson gun store; owner shoots, injures one

The Richardson Police Department along with the ATF Dallas are investigating an armed robbery of a Richardson gun store that occurred on Thursday afternoon.

Police received a report of a robbery at Mike’s Gun Store, located in the 1000 block of E. Belt Line Road, around 3PM on Thursday afternoon.

Investigators say four individuals entered the gun store, two displaying weapons. They robbed the store of 53 handguns before the store owner was able to shoot and injure one of the suspects.

Richardson EMS transported the wounded suspect to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

When the store owner started shooting, the three uninjured suspects fled from the scene in a light gray Chevy Malibu. ATF says the vehicle has paper tags and one replacement tire.

A $10,000 reward is offered for information leading to the capture of these suspects.

Woman shot, killed in south Fort Worth neighborhood

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a homicide in a south Fort Worth neighborhood.

Police were called to the scene just after 4:15PM this afternoon after 9-1-1 calls came in of a possible shooting.

Emergency responders pronounced a woman deceased at the scene.

Homicide investigators are on scene.

Additional details have not yet been released. It is best to avoid the area.

Two people shot, one fatally, along southwest Fort Worth highway

The Fort Worth Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred overnight around 2:30AM.

Reports indicate a vehicle was driving along the highway near the I-20 and 183 interchange when shots were fired. The female driver believed she was being followed by her boyfriend when shots hit the vehicle.

The driver and a passenger in the vehicle were both shot. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The suspect fled the area.

Lanes of Interstate 20 and Highway 183 are blocked off in the area while police investigate the scene.

Man killed in motorcycle crash along I-20 in Arlington

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality accident involving a motorcycle that occurred earlier today in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20 near Little Road.

Just before noon, Arlington FD, PD, and EMS were all called to Interstate 20 at Little Road for a major accident. Officers located one motorcyclist in the roadway, deceased from injuries sustained in the crash.

Investigators believe the rider fell off his motorcycle and hit the pavement.

The motorcyclist has been identified as a 36-year-old man from Burleson.

Two firefighters injured while battling Fort Worth house fire

The Fort Worth Fire Department was called to an early morning house fire in the 2800 block of Milam Street around 5:15AM this morning.

First-arriving crews observed heavy fire coming from the one story house. Firefighters began to make an aggressive fire attack on the building.

One firefighter was burned while attacking the fire. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Another firefighter was injured after part of the roof collapsed into the house, trapping him. A May Day was called, indicating a trapped or injured firefighter in the building. Fellow firefighters rushed in and pulled him to safety. He was evaluated for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.

Driver runs away from crash along I-30, fatally struck by vehicle

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident in the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near E. Loop 820 in the east Fort Wort area.

According to officials, officers observed a vehicle driving erratically and attempted to catch up to it. The vehicle sped off out of sight. As officers attempted to catch up, they found the driver had crashed into a pole. The vehicle had become engulfed in fire.

After the crash, the driver fled on foot across the westbound lanes of the highway where he was fatally struck by a passing vehicle. Investigators are working the fatality crash scene now. All westbound lanes of I-30 are closed due to this crash.

Police clarify this was not a pursuit related incident. It is unknown why the driver was driving erratically or why he fled from the accident on foot.

Avoid the area.

Woman killed, three others injured after multi-vehicle crash in Haltom City

The Haltom City Police Department has released an update regarding the fatality accident that occurred along eastbound N Loop 820 earlier this morning.

Police say a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on 820 when the driver attempted to grab his water bottle, but lost control of the truck. The pickup veered to the left and hit the median, eventually colliding into a stranded vehicle on the left side of the highway.

This caused the pickup truck to go airborne and land on top of a second vehicle parked in front of the stranded one.

A woman sitting inside the second vehicle was killed in the crash. Two men, who were outside the vehicles changing a flat tire, were both seriously hurt and transported to local trauma centers.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with non-serious injuries.

Lanes of eastbound N Loop 820 were closed for several hours while investigators documented the scene.

It is unknown if the driver of the pickup truck will face any charges. The investigation is ongoing.

Man shot by Dallas police after allegedly killing girlfriend

The Dallas and Mesquite police departments are investigating an officer involved shooting in the 500 block of Parkwood Trail.

According to officials, Dallas police were called to the 8900 block of Park Lane after a man reportedly killed his girlfriend. Police located a woman in her 40’s dead from homicidal violence inside the residence.

The suspect’s vehicle was broadcast citywide. A short time later, a Dallas police officer observed a vehicle matching the description and attempted to pull him over. The driver sped off and led police on a short police chase.

The chase ended in Mesquite in the 500 block of Parkwood Trail. Immediately after the crash, multiple Dallas police officers were involved in a shooting. The suspect was shot multiple times.

He was transported to a local hospital, where his condition is stable. There are no reports of any officers injured.

The Mesquite Police Department is investigating the officer involved shooting since it occurred in their jurisdiction.

Head-on crash kills driver in Parker County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred around 7AM this morning near the 2800 block of Farm to Market Road 920 near Sunrise Trail, north of Weatherford.

Officials say a man was driving northbound on FM 920 when he crossed over the center lane and hit a southbound vehicle head-on.

The 31-year-old man driving the northbound car was killed in the crash. He has been identified as a resident of Weatherford.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 41-year-old woman, was transported to a Fort Worth hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Investigators are working to determine why the northbound driver crossed the center lanes and into oncoming traffic. The cause is under investigation.
