The Rockwall Police Department is investigating a fatality accident involving a juvenile driver who was fleeing police at the time of the crash.

Just after 1:00AM on Friday morning, Rowlett police were pursuing a vehicle along Interstate 30 in the area of Horizon Road when they requested assistance from the Rockwall Police Department. During the pursuit, the suspect lost control of the vehicle and crashed through a fence, into the backyard of a residence in the Chandler’s Landing subdivision.

The vehicle erupted into flames after the crash. One passenger, a juvenile female, was able to get out of the car; however, the driver, also a juvenile female, was unable to exit. She was found dead in the car after firefighters extinguished the flames.

Detectives determined the vehicle was stolen earlier in the evening.

The identities of the two juvenile females was not released.

The Everman Police Department is remembering a beloved 27-year veteran of their force. Officer Alex Arango died this morning after contracting the COVID-19 virus on duty.

“Officer Arango was the absolute cornerstone of this department and a rock for this community,” Chief Craig Spencer told us. “Alex always refused to promote through this 27 years of service here because he loved serving the citizens of Everman so much. He wanted to remain as close to them as possible.”

Officer Arango was hospitalized and placed on a ventilator on Monday. His wife and mother are also recovering from the virus. His mother’s condition is reportedly very serious.

A prayer vigil was held on Monday evening at Texas Health Southwest hospital.

Since Officer Arango contracted the virus on duty, his death will be classified as a Line of Duty Death.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident involving a motorcycle that occurred last night (Wednesday) on FM 920 northwest of Weatherford.

Officials say a truck and trailer was stopped on Sharla Smelley Road at FM 920 when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto northbound FM 920. A motorcyclist was traveling southbound on FM 920 and struck the pickup truck. The driver of the truck failed to yield to the right of way of the motorcycle.

Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist deceased on the scene. He has been identified as a 21-year-old man from Mineral Wells.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.

Original story: Possible human remains found in field near Lewisville business

The Lewisville Police Department has released updated information regarding the remains found in a field off Business 121 near Advantage Storage in Lewisville.

Officials from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office and a team of anthropologists have determined the skull and bone remains are from an adult in his or her 40’s. The sex of the individual has not yet been determined.

They also determined the remains have been in the field for at least three years, potentially longer.

It will take around two months for the Medical Examiner to complete all necessary forensic tests to determine the sex of the individual and a possible cause of death.

Members from the Lewisville Police Department along with the anthropologists walked the entire field today and believe they have located all the bones.

Although Lewisville PD does not currently have any unsolved missing person(s) cases matching this timeframe, they are working closely with surrounding agencies that do.

The scene was cleared earlier this afternoon, but the investigation will remain active.

The Frisco Police Department is investigating the drowning of a small child that occurred last night in the Greyhawk subdivision of northwest Frisco.

At around 6:30PM, a homeowner called police to report a missing child from the 2200 block of Chenault Drive. As officers were canvassing the area, the child was located in a residential neighborhood pond along East Talon Drive.

Emergency responders immediately began life-saving efforts. Frisco EMS transported the child to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunately, the child was pronounced deceased this morning after being hospitalized overnight.

“Based on the initial investigation, there is no foul play suspected,” says Frisco PD. No criminal charges are being pursued at this time.

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a drowning that occurred Tuesday evening on Lake Arlington.

Just before 6:30PM, multiple emergency responders were called to the Fort Worth shoreline of Lake Arlington after a man riding a jet ski slipped off and did not resurface after going underwater. He was unresponsive when a friend pulled him to the shoreline.

CPR was performed on the victim, but he was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Officials say he was wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident, but it was not the proper size.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled his death an accident by drowning. He has been identified as a 35-year-old man from Arlington.

The Lewisville Police Department is investigating possible human remains found in a field behind a storage business in Lewisville.

Multiple police were called to the area of 2300 E. Business 121 near Old Denton Road, just west of where Business 121 splits off from the Sam Rayburn Tollway. A geologist digging in the area reported they had discovered human remains in a field near the U-Haul facility.

“As of right now, we can tell a skull was found along with a couple other bones,” says the Lewisville PD. They say the bones appear to be from an adult, but the sex is currently undetermined.

The department does not currently have any missing person cases; however, they are checking with other departments in the area that may have cases.

The area has been cordoned off while police wait for official crews to begin their investigation. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office along with a team of anthropologists will be at the site tomorrow. Expect heavy police activity in this area and throughout the day tomorrow.

The Medical Examiner will determine if the remains are human.

The Irving Police Department is investigating the shooting deaths of three people that occurred this morning at a house in the 400 block of Renaissance Lane.

At around 11:15AM this morning, police responded to a possible domestic situation involving a woman and her brother. Officers briefly spoke with a man at the house before he retreated inside and starting firing shots.

Several officers forcibly entered into the home using an explosive breach, and located the bodies of three individuals: two women and one man. Police do say they were all related.

There is heavy police activity along W. 6th Street through this area.
