Driver rescued after crashing into Rendon pond

At 8:32am this morning, multiple emergency responders from the Rendon Fire Department, Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Worth Fire Department, and Everman Fire Department were called to a crash at a neighborhood pond near 7300 Red Leaf Court.

Police say the driver thought the pickup was in drive, but it was in reverse. She lost control of the truck and it rolled downhill into the water. The driver had to bust through the sunroof to get out of the submerged vehicle.

First arriving deputies utilized a homeowner’s boat to rescue the driver.

Fort Worth FD’s Dive Team assisted in recovering the vehicle from the water.

The driver was not injured.
