Woman arrested for fatally hitting pedestrian near Ennis

On February 1, at approximately 6:46 P.M., a 36-year-old man from Ennis was walking in the northeast lane of traffic on FM 1182 when he was struck and killed by a vehicle.

Investigators determined that a silver 2006 Toyota Sienna, operated by 26-year-old Sandra Maritza Molina of Ennis, struck and killed Burrows. Molina then fled the scene and did not report the traffic crash.

Texas DPS has arrested Molina for Failure to Stop and Render Aid, Involving Death, 2nd Degree Felony. This arrest stems from an investigation conducted by Texas State Troopers and leads provided by citizens to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office and Ellis County Crime Stoppers.

She remains in Ellis County jail.
