Irving mother and boyfriend arrested in the murder of her 8-year-old boy

The Irving Police Department has arrested a 30-year-old woman and her 29-year-old boyfriend in the death of her 8-year-old son.

Last Friday, January 8th, the Irving Fire Department responded to the Magnuson Hotel, an extended stay hotel located on the service road of Highway 183 near N. O’Connor Road, for an unconscious person call. Officers and paramedics found an unresponsive 8-year-old male child on the bed inside the hotel room. Numerous injuries to the child were observed when officers first arrived on the scene.

Life-saving measures were immediately started and continued as the child was taken to Children’s Dallas. Unfortunately, the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Irving police say the investigation is still in its early stages, but evidence suggests the child’s mother and her boyfriend had been “violently abusing” the child for the past week and a half.

The woman and her boyfriend were arrested and both charged with Capital Murder in the death of the boy. Police say they have been dating for a year.

Young man killed in Fort Worth’s historic southside neighborhood

The Fort Worth Police Department responded to a shooting at around 1:30am overnight in the city’s historic southside neighborhood.

Multiple police officers were called to a shooting in the 900 block of E. Cannon Street. One man was found deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as a 23-year-old man who lived at the house.

The department’s homicide unit is investigating the incident.

Man arrested for killing Uber driver in Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred last Friday, January 8th, involving a ride-share driver and his passenger.

Officials say a 33-year-old Uber driver was found dead near the 4100 block of Langdon Road around lunchtime on Friday. An investigation led them to uncover that he was killed by a passenger in vehicle.

As detectives learned more about the crime, it was determined that a 21-year-old male passenger riding in the Uber attempted to rob the driver. The passenger then beat the driver to death, according to Dallas police.

Dallas police located the suspect and subsequently arrested him. He has been charged with Capital Murder.

Man found shot dead along Tarrant County roadway

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting death of a man found dead along a rural roadway near Rendon.

At around 8:00am yesterday morning (Saturday), the Rendon Fire / EMS Department and multiple Tarrant County sheriffs deputies were called to the 6100 block of Teague Road for a “man down.” When emergency responders arrived, they located a deceased man laying on a grassy embankment along the roadway.

Teague Road was shut off for all traffic between Davis Road and FM 1187 for several hours while crime scene conducted their investigation.

The victim has been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as a 38-year-old man from Roanoke. His death has been listed as a homicide.

“On 01/09/2021 at 8:10 AM, Tarrant County Deputies were dispatched to the 5700 block of Teague Rd. A 38-year-old male was found deceased near the roadway by a passing motorist. Tarrant County Investigators are collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. This is a homicide and is believed to be an isolated incident, posing no immediate danger to the public. The investigation is on-going and additional information will be released as it becomes available.”

California murder suspect kills self after police track him into Dallas neighborhood

Multiple police departments and federal police officers are investigating an incident that occurred this morning in the 2100 block of W Amherst Avenue near Harry Hines Blvd in northwest Dallas.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Los Angeles, California Police Department were tracking a murder suspect who reportedly killed his ex-girlfriend on Wednesday, January 6th in California. The suspect, a 46-year-old man, was found to be staying with family in Irving.

Investigators tracked Flores from a location in Arlington all the way into Dallas. The Dallas Police Department’s Air-1 helicopter and ground units assisted in following the suspect to a neighborhood in the 2100 block of W Amherst Avenue.

When the suspect realized he was being followed by several police agencies, he parked his vehicle, got out, and shot himself. The suspect was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The investigation into this incident is still ongoing.

Four people killed after negligent driver causes highway crash in Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred early this morning along southbound Interstate 35E near Camp Wisdom Road.

At 5:40am this morning, Dallas firefighters, paramedics, and police officers were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident along the southbound lanes of I35E near Camp Wisdom Road.

Investigators say a crash had occurred in the left lanes of the highway, causing traffic to merge right. A white vehicle had merged right and stopped due to the traffic. The driver of a BMW traveling at high speeds failed to control her speed and crashed into the back of the white vehicle, causing a chain reaction crash involving several vehicles.

Four occupants inside the white vehicle were killed in the crash. A juvenile male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another juvenile male was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased. Two adults, one male and one female, were also transported to local hospitals and pronounced deceased.

The female driver is expected to be charged with Criminally Negligent Homicide.

All southbound lanes of I35E were closed for several hours while Dallas police investigated the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Woman killed while walking across Northwest Highway near Love Field

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred late Friday night in the 3100 block of West Northwest Highway near Bachman Lake.

Police say a man driving a pickup truck on eastbound Northwest Highway struck a woman crossing the roadway. She was not crossing in a designated crosswalk.

Dallas Fire Rescue transported the woman to a local hospital, but she died as a result of her injuries. She has been identified as a female in her 60’s.

There are no charges pending at this time.

Good samaritan struck by vehicle after assisting in crash on Spur 408 in Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight on southbound Spur 408.

At around 12:45am, a rollover accident occurred on the highway. A man driving by stopped to help the driver involved in the rollover crash. As he was returning to his vehicle, an SUV struck the man, who was walking across the highway.

Dallas Fire Rescue transported the man to a local hospital, but he was pronounced deceased.

The driver who hit the Good Samaritan remained at the scene. No charges will be filed at this time, per Dallas police.

All lanes of southbound Spur 408 were closed while Dallas police investigated the scene.

Burleson officer transported to hospital after crash

A Burleson police officer has sustained injuries after a crash involving their patrol vehicle and another vehicle near the intersection of Burleson Blvd and Hidden Creek Parkway.

Officials say an officer was in their police car blocking the roadway for an active investigation when a vehicle drove around the police barricades and hit the police car.

The officer and the other driver were both transported to a local hospital for evaluation of minor injuries.

There was police activity in the area while they worked an investigation. Avoid the area.

Woman killed, another badly hurt after crash on I-20 in Arlington

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred late last night (Friday) along the eastbound Interstate 20 lanes between Green Oaks Blvd and Kelly Elliott Road.

Just after 10:30pm last night, the Arlington PD, FD, and EMS were all called to a serious crash on I-20 near Green Oaks. Multiple vehicles were found to have been involved in a collision, all sustaining major damage.

Officials say a wrecked pickup truck had become stalled in the fast lane of I-20. A second vehicle had stopped to check on the persons inside the pickup truck, who had exited the pickup and were standing on the small shoulder of Interstate 20 next to the left lane. A third vehicle, traveling at highway speeds, attempted to take evasive action in an effort to avoid the wrecked vehicle. The driver swerved onto the left hand shoulder, hitting the two women who were outside the pickup truck.

One of the women was pronounced deceased at the scene. She has been identified as a 43-year-old woman from Snyder, Texas. The second woman was transported to a local trauma center with severe injuries.

All lanes of eastbound Interstate 20 were closed throughout the night while police investigated the scene.

“The Traffic Unit reminds the motoring public to attempt to get vehicles completely out of the roadway, when possible, and to exit vehicles safely and stand as far away from the main lanes and shoulders as possible when stranded on a freeway. Officers recommend possibly standing on the opposite side of a barrier wall or guardrail if available while awaiting public safety responders.”

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrians is cooperating with investigators.
